Its honorary sponsors are the APV (Working Group for Pharmaceutical Process Engineering) and the VDI Association of Process and Chemical Engineering. Powtech Technopharm is the gateway to the European market and provides a comprehensive look at the latest developments and industry-specific trends. TBMA have redesigned their H-GRD blowing seal, dedicated to handling fish feed on feeding barges for open sea fish farming. Barge builders have to deal with specific requirements for the feeding systems, such as limited space and an isolated, salty environment. So, how could we help them with a smart solution valve? The H-GRD of itself already is a robust and reliable valve that offers efficient dosing. Most important for aquafeed, its gentle handling causes minimal damage to the fish feed and therefore minimal water pollution. As a result, the ROI of the valve is very favourable. Redesign for even easier maintenance For the redesign, we mounted a direct in-line drive and consequently reduced the number of parts. As a result, maintenance is even easier than before and less spare parts are required. Moreover, the valve has a smaller installation size. Triple advantage. Sensitive UWT Measurement Solutions for the Pneumatic Conveying and Storage of Ultra-Fine Silicon Dioxide Silicon dioxide, also known as silica, is used across many industries – from paint and plastics manufacturing to food and pharmaceutical, and in producing modern insulation materials. In chemical process engineering especially, this fine-grained, often fluidized powder places high demands on storage, conveying, and level monitoring. An insulation material production project shows how UWT sensor solutions operate reliably even with extremely fine-grained, pneumatically conveyed silica. Despite heavy dust loads and low bulk density, these sensors enable precise and process-secure level and point level measurement. In a plant that produces heat and sound insulation boards, highly dispersed silica (SiO₂) is temporarily stored in vertical silos approximately 25 m high before further processing. Challenge: Cleaning effort for highly adhesive products At the Reagens site in Loxstedt, manual systems were previously used, which regularly left up to one kilogram of product in the hopper. ParTec, the prestigious international scientific congress, will be held alongside Powtech Technopharm again in 2025. The Powtech Technopharm team is busy with the preparations. The trade fair looks set to be a successful event, with around 600 exhibitors expected in Nuremberg in September. Around 80 percent of the exhibition space has already been booked. “The current floor plans are available online.
