Powtech Technopharm 2025 has plenty of new features in store. Apart from the addition of Technopharm to the trade fair name, there are also new meeting points such as the Pharma in Focus Pavilion or the Women4processing network. We are also welcoming new partners such as ZLV (Centre for Food and Packaging Technology), BDI (Federation of German Industries), VEA (Association of German Energy Consumers), and IND EX (Intercontinental Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection) alongside our established partners. Interdisciplinary dialogue is one of the hallmarks of Powtech Technopharm.

Pharma in Focus: pavilion and expert forum

The new “Pharma in Focus” Pavilion in Hall 10 puts the spotlight on pharmaceutical processing technology and enables companies to showcase their latest products and services. In the Technopharm Forum, also in Hall 10, visitors can look forward to presentations, discussions and inspirational insights on technologies for pharmaceutical development, production and quality assurance. This forum features “thinking-outside-the-box” speakers from organisations like the BDI (Federation of German Industries) or VEA (Association of German Energy Consumers) as well as presentations by both manufacturers and users.

VDMA Special Show: visions for the future

Under the banner “From Vision to Reality – Empowering Tomorrow”, VDMA Service GmbH partners with the VDMA associations General Air Technology and Process Engineering Machinery and Equipment and various member companies in Hall 10 to explore current trends like battery recycling and interface standards like OPC UA. The Speaker’s Corner is the ideal spot for professional dialogue about the challenges and solutions of the future.

Networking for women: Women4processing

With Women4processing, the trade fair is establishing a new networking format for women working in the field of process technology. It’s where committed women from industry, the R&D community, marketing, sales, and academia will meet to enjoy interdisciplinary discussions. This exclusive networking event takes place from 12:00 to 14:00 on 23 September.

Innovations, networks, and the next generation

At the “Innovation made in Germany” Pavilion in Hall 4, young German companies will showcase their latest developments – from digital process solutions to innovative processing technology. The Networking Pavilion in Hall 12 offers a venue for discussions with international start-ups and established companies – a place where new impetus and alliances can be forged. At the Campus Pavilion, leading tertiary institutions, universities, and passionate young professionals showcase their research and ideas. Visitors can look forward to information on current research projects, workshops, guided tours, and direct contact with academia.

The DSIV (German Powder and Bulk Association) and VDI-GvC (VDI Association of Process and Chemical Engineering) will be hosting a Student Day on the Thursday, when the next generation of industry professionals can look forward to specialist presentations, guided tours and networking opportunities. One highlight that is not just for up-and-coming scientists is the VDI-GvC ChemCar competition, a race between model cars powered by (bio) chemical reactions. It’s all happening at the heart of the exhibition at 15:30 on the second day of the event in the NCC West entrance area. The awards ceremony will be held afterwards in the Powtech Forum.

International perspectives and live experiences

The International Meeting of Bulk Solids Associations on 23 September (10:00 to 11:00, Zurich Room, NCC West) offers insights into overseas markets and collaboration opportunities in Germany, Japan, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK. The live demonstrations on explosion protection by the Rembe Research + Technology Center (RTC), which take place in the exhibition park at 12:00 and 16:00 daily (15:00 on the Thursday), provide an impressive display of how modern explosion protection systems work. The organisation IND EX® (Intercontinental Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection), which supports research projects at the RTC, will host its IND EX Explosion Safety Forum on 23 September.

Competence meets community: Powtech and Technopharm expert forums
On all three days of the fair, the Powtech Forum in Hall 12 will present a wide range of current topics at the very heart of the trade fair, e.g., “Plant engineering, automation, process optimisation” – including analysis and measuring technology. Other subjects of major importance for the entire bulk solids industry are “Safety & Security”, “Environmental protection and sustainability”, and the diverse “Future technologies in mechanical engineering”. Interested parties from the food industry will also gain extensive insights into the issue of food production. Inspired by the co-located event Fachpack, the presentation “Processing Meets Packaging” shows how in large areas of the food industry, manufacturing and packing processes have moved closer together. On the Thursday, the young professionals who have been drawn to Powtech Technopharm by the Student Day are encouraged to check out the Powtech Forum.

In the Technopharm Forum – curated and moderated by institutional sponsor APV (International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology) – visitors can experience three days of pharmaceutical expertise live in Hall 10. The stream “Analytics, Containment and Process and Design Optimisation” is devoted to topics that are currently particularly important to the pharmaceutical industry. Other topics focus on “Continuous Manufacturing in the Pharmaceutical Industry”, “Excipients and Formulation”, “Containment”, “Analytics and DoE “, “GMP and Annex 1”, “Cyber Security”, and “Requalification and Revalidation”.

Visitors can look forward to a premiere on the second day of the fair. At the VDI Science Slam, participants compete with one another to present their own research topic in an entertaining, creative and understandable way. Afterwards, Felix Behm, the 2022 German Public Speaking Champion, will present an unusual keynote that is not just of interest to pharmaceutical experts.

As one of the leading trade fairs for technologies for the processing of powders, solids and liquids, Powtech Technopharm brings together a wide range of experts from the processing technology field. As well as covering pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food, the event also explores other segments like energy, plastics and rubber, ceramics and glass, environment and recycling, cosmetics, and non-metallic minerals (pit and quarry). In the exhibitor and product database on the Powtech Technopharm website, visitors can use filters to focus on the sectors and products that interest them and display the details with hall and stand numbers, allowing them to prepare effectively for their trade fair visit.
