Unique Signal Light by UWT for Maximum Safety in Ex Zones

NivoLED® – NL 9000 – Tough in any environment, flexible in every application

In many industries, safety and monitoring are top priorities – especially in hazardous areas where every moment matters, and mistakes are not an option.
This is where the NivoLED® - NL 9000 sets new standards:
as the only signal light of its kind, it combines cutting-edge technology with uncompromising reliability. Whether visualising operating conditions, enabling precise fault diagnostics, or ensuring seamless process monitoring – the NivoLED® doesn’t just provide a solution; it delivers the answer to the highest demands.

Reliable Support for Point Level Sensors

In process plants, silos, or tanks, precise monitoring of fill levels is essential to prevent downtime, overfills, failures, or hazardous situations. The NivoLED® reliably signals whether a threshold has been reached. With its 360° visibility and dual-colour LED display, critical conditions can be identified at a glance, allowing prompt action to be taken. This ensures enhanced safety and optimised operational processes.

Clear Status Indicators in Control Cabinets

In complex hazardous areas, quickly and clearly understanding operating conditions is crucial. The dual-colour LEDs (red/green) of the signal light make the status of system components visible, enabling rapid assessment. Additionally, they assist in fault diagnosis by clearly indicating potential issues, reducing response times in case of problems.

Process Monitoring at the Highest Level

In industrial process plants where valves, pumps, or other operational units need to be monitored, signal lights provide a crucial advantage. They visualise switching states and support process control. At the same time, they enhance safety by visually indicating whether an area is safe or potentially hazardous.

Technology for Demanding Conditions

The signal light is specifically designed for use in hazardous areas. Its robust design ensures reliable performance even in dusty or chemically aggressive environments. Certifications according to ATEX, IECEx, and cFMus guarantee compliance with the highest safety standards. Made from durable PVDF plastic and rated to IP66/NEMA Type 4X, it offers exceptional resistance to weather and chemicals. With an operating temperature range from -40°C to +60°C (-40 °F to +140 °F), it delivers reliable functionality even in extreme environmental conditions.

Versatile Applications Across Various Industries

With multiple connection threads (M20x1.5, NPT ½”) and supply voltage options, the signal light is highly flexible and can be easily integrated into existing systems. Its versatility is also evident in its compatibility with various setups: whether for level sensors, control cabinets, or process plants, the NivoLED® integrates seamlessly. It is compatible with all common relay and transistor outputs, ensuring smooth connections to existing control systems. The efficient LED technology provides clear visualisation with minimal energy consumption while ensuring long service life—perfect for continuous operation.

The demands of various industries make the NivoLED® - NL 9000 an indispensable partner:
  • Chemical and Petrochemical Industries: Precise level monitoring and reliable warning signals to enhance process safety.
  • Food and Beverage Production: Hygienic and safe visualisation in demanding production environments.
  • Pharmaceutical Industry: Efficient process monitoring, even in aggressive environments and with sensitive substances.
  • Recycling and Waste Management: Clear status indicators in dust-laden environments, such as waste incineration plants.
  • Energy and Utility Providers:Efficient monitoring of gas plants and power supply systems.

With its versatility and robust design, the NivoLED® - NL 9000 offers a reliable solution for safety-critical applications in hazardous areas – across all industries.

UWT Sensor Combination for Efficient Level Control in the EPS Industry Customized Dual-Sensor Solution for Low-Density Bulk Material
UWT Sensor Combination for Efficient Level Control in the EPS Industry
Customized Dual-Sensor Solution for Low-Density Bulk Material A prominent expanded polystyrene (EPS) manufacturer from the USA was faced with major challenges when it came to fill level measurement due to the special properties of the material. The very low bulk density and the particular storage conditions made it difficult for conventional sensors to accurately recognise and detect the fill levels. UWT offered an effective solution by installing two different level sensors: a rotary paddle level switch and a vibrating fork in combination. The challenge: Material properties and storage conditions Two major challenges had to be overcome in the EPS production plant in order to ensure effective and reliable operation: Low bulk density: Due to the very low bulk density, EPS materials settle at the bottom of the silos and compact there. This compaction can create a more dense material layer, which facilitates the operation of level sensors. However, as the material level increases, the density and compression decreases,
