Precise Moisture Measurement as a Key to Quality

The determination of moisture content in bulk materials and their raw ingredients is a critical factor for product quality and processability. Especially in highly automated modern process plants, the rapid and precise acquisition of moisture values is becoming increasingly important. Conventional measurement methods are often time-consuming and can yield inaccurate results with small sample sizes. Digital inspection techniques offer significant advantages: they provide accurate measurements within seconds and efficiently capture data for further processing.

Mobile Technology for Practical Applications

To meet the demands of practical use, Ludwig Moisture Control has developed a modern, mobile measuring device. The measuring probes are battery-powered and wireless, allowing for high flexibility in application. All measurement signals are digitally processed directly in the probe and sent via radio to end devices such as smartphones or tablets. The measurement results are displayed as a percentage (%) and can be digitally stored and converted into common formats for quality management.

Intelligent Software and Individual Calibration

AI-supported software detects operating errors and soiled sensors, which increases the reliability of the measurements. Since all commercially available moisture sensors measure indirectly, a site-specific calibration to the respective material is essential. The powerful processors in the measuring devices allow for the storage of a variety of individual calibration curves to optimize measurement precision. The software is available as an app, simplifying updates and further developments.

Adaptable Devices for Various Applications

Depending on the practical use, various models of the inspection devices are available. There are measuring systems integrated into a robust polymer bucket as well as models designed as probe lances. Functionally, both variants are largely identical; they simply take into account the individual usage habits of the operator.
