Food plants planned with precision thanks to 3D scan technology

Food plants planned with precision thanks to 3D scan technology

We work with high resolution point clouds and real view data to combine existing spaces with planned equipment.
In the Business Field Food, we have been successfully using 3D scans for several years to adapt our plant designs precisely and efficiently to on-site conditions. This technology helps us plan complex projects with even greater accuracy and simplifies coordination with our customers.

How does it work?

Before a plant is designed, the designated installation area is captured in 3D at the customer’s site by a specialized service provider. This process generates high-resolution point clouds, supplemented by a photorealistic representation of the entire space.
The resulting data is then processed using modern software and combined with the 3D model of the planned plant. The result is a so-called “married layout” – a combination of the real environment and the planned technology.

What are the benefits?

The detailed representation allows us to identify and take into account structural elements such as steel beams, pipelines, or existing equipment at an early stage. Potential obstacles or necessary wall openings also become visible.
This not only facilitates the planning of plant installation – in terms of space requirements, access routes, or maneuvering areas – but also improves communication throughout the project. The realistic visualization makes technical details easier to understand for everyone involved.
1. Clarity: Realistic visuals reveal obstacles early.
2. Efficiency: Smooth planning of space and access.
3. Alignment: Improved communication across the project.

Conclusion

The use of 3D scans has become an integral part of our project planning. It helps us implement technical solutions with greater precision – efficiently, transparently, and tailored to the specific installation environment.

Protein Shifting and Enrichment with Dry Grinding and Classifying
Protein Shifting and Enrichment with Dry Grinding and Classifying
The global food supply chain is undergoing significant changes. With the world’s population growing, the demand for food, especially proteins, is increasing. This demand cannot be met solely by animal proteins due to the extensive land required for livestock and water usage. Additionally, consumers are increasingly demanding sustainable production methods. Therefore, alternative protein sources obtained from plants, mushrooms, insects as well algae or bacteria fermented biomass are crucial for future needs and are intensively investigated nowadays. A well-established source are plant-based proteins. Focusing on the production of meat alternatives, protein isolates from soy with a protein content > 80 % are the means of choice as major ingredient therefore – mostly obtained through diverse wet extraction methods. But due to ongoing developments in dry fractionation technologies and seed breeding, the process has become an energy-efficient method to produce

Recycling rare earth magnets for sustainable electromobility
Recycling and the sustainable use of valuable raw materials are playing an increasingly important role in the area of rare earth magnets. Rare earth alloys and the permanent magnets made from them are becoming increasingly important as the use of electromobility grows. These materials are of crucial importance for the efficiency and performance of electric motors, generators, and other industrial applications. To ensure the sustainable use of these valuable raw materials and at the same time protect the environment, recycling is also playing an increasingly important role in this area. Recycled magnets can be divided into two main categories: On the one hand, waste is generated during the production of magnets, and on the other hand, classic returns from electric motors, generators or other applications are recycled. Magnet waste from production is usually cutting waste from the mechanical processing of magnets. To be able to reincorporate this material into the production process, it is crucial to remove any impurities such as oxides and carbides. Electric motors and generators generally have
