Silo conveyor system for bagging road salt. System conversion required only load cells for silos and intelligent control system. Our customer, a logistics company for agricultural products and manufacturer of special road salt, is based in Switzerland. The special thing about this salt is that it retains its effectiveness even at temperatures below -8 degrees Celsius. Two raw materials are mixed and bagged in our facilities on site. Using an intelligent control system, SSB has succeeded in controlling the existing silo discharge screws in such a way that the finished product can be conveyed directly from the conveyor without the need for additional mixer silos. On the customer side, the system conversion required for this only involved the weight recording of the component silos via load load cells and the intelligent control system from SSB. The savings and efficiency are considerable, as the customer can dispense with the mixer and delivery silos in future. The finished product is stored in silos and filled into 25kg sacks or big bags. Two GWS 2000 belt throwers have arrived in the USA and have been assembled. The machines will be properly configured and commissioned by an experienced SSB technician at the end of April. The SSB team will support and train the customer in the areas of operation, product set-up and preventive maintenance. Thanks to remote access, we have access to the machine from Germany and can provide the customer with competent technical support on site in the USA at any time. The next GWS project has already been successfully implemented and is on its way to the USA. Another part of a major customer project in the logistics sector has been successfully completed with our palletizing solutions and the delivery and commissioning is in full swing. This week we have reached the next exciting step, two heavily loaded trucks with our palletizing robots have started their journey to the customer. Carefully packed and secured, the products and materials have reached their destinations, where they are now set up and put into operation. We set up and simulated a test with our granulate thrower in our halls for a customer from the USA. In the USA there are other vehicle lengths and container dimensions to consider. Extra-long freight containers in 53-foot dimensions are widespread in the USA and Canada and offer considerably more space than the 20, 30, 40-foot sea containers standardised in Germany, which can also be filled here without any problems and are suitable for European terminals and transhipment stations. We set up and simulated a test with our granulate thrower in our halls for a customer from the USA. The 53′ container posed a challenge.The aim is to fill a 53′ container evenly with granulate. The inliner has a total length of 16.2 metres and is to be inflated and then filled very quickly by our GWS 2000 granulate thrower. However, the known throwing distances are below the new targets. According to the selected option, the big bag can be used with or without a pallet, and two big bags can be stacked on top of each other. The SSB Big-Bag comfort filling system is a modular system for different applications. Easy handling and high performance as well as an optional combination of bottom and top weighing system characterize the Big-Bag comfort. An additional option is the height-adjustable filling spout with hydraulic lifting system. Thanks to this option, different bag formats and sizes as well as octabins and large cartons can be used. The weighing system consists of two mechanically separate weighing systems that are electronically connected to form a complete scale. This means that a big bag can be weighed suspended or below without the influence of high tare weights, lifting systems or product feeders.
