The particular challenge was that various products such as instant coffee, chicory, and cocoa were used alternately, each with different material properties. Despite this variety, the sensor needed to operate consistently and precisely, without the need for recalibration. The Challenge The product range included various materials such as roasted coffee beans, ground coffee, instant coffee, chicory, and cocoa. Instant coffee, in particular, may contain sugar and milk powder, depending on the variety, which creates a particularly sticky substance during mixing - a real challenge for level measurement technology. Challenge: Cleaning effort for highly adhesive products At the Reagens site in Loxstedt, manual systems were previously used, which regularly left up to one kilogram of product in the hopper. We work with high resolution point clouds and real view data to combine existing spaces with planned equipment. In the Business Field Food, we have been successfully using 3D scans for several years to adapt our plant designs precisely and efficiently to on-site conditions. This technology helps us plan complex projects with even greater accuracy and simplifies coordination with our customers. How does it work? Before a plant is designed, the designated installation area is captured in 3D at the customer’s site by a specialized service provider. This process generates high-resolution point clouds, supplemented by a photorealistic representation of the entire space. The resulting data is then processed using modern software and combined with the 3D model of the planned plant. The Hagen-based industrial valves specialist EBRO ARMATUREN has launched INFLAS PRO, an innovative method of controlling inflatable seats in the series of INFLAS valves. The control unit, equipped with a microcontroller, not only cycles the full range of operations for opening and closing the valve, it also monitors all the relevant parameters. Thus, it can proactively detect potential malfunctions in advance and report them back to the PLC via a volt-free contact. INFLAS valves with inflatable seat The INFLAS sealing system was developed for use of the valve with flows of highly abrasive or highly sensitive substances. In the closed valve position the sealing seat is pressed against the valve disc pneumatically.
