Customized Dual-Sensor Solution for Low-Density Bulk Material A prominent expanded polystyrene (EPS) manufacturer from the USA was faced with major challenges when it came to fill level measurement due to the special properties of the material. The very low bulk density and the particular storage conditions made it difficult for conventional sensors to accurately recognise and detect the fill levels. UWT offered an effective solution by installing two different level sensors: a rotary paddle level switch and a vibrating fork in combination. After big-bags are emptied, they are often folded. During folding, dust is generated. This dust emission can be avoided by using a big-bag compactor with an integrated compressed-air cleaned filter. The Poeth big bag compactor, is specially developed for dust-free compression and packaging of empty big-bags in clean rooms. The space inside the compactor is so large that the big-bag fits neatly inside it without folding. The amount of waste is reduced to a minimum. At the end, the empty big-bags are packed dust-proof in an endless film. The integrated filter is suitable for very different powders: from very fine to very sticky. A secondary HEPA filter can be placed behind the filter. Whether mobile or not, the unit is equipped with its own control/control box.
