Powder processing without gas wasting for additive manufacturing
assonic presents a closed loop system for reactive metal powders for the first time at Formnext 2024 Up to now, the preparation and further processing of reactive powders for modern additive manufacturing applications, such as titanium, has consumed a large amount of inert gas, which was emitted into the atmosphere after the process. In cooperation with a well-known East German university, German company assonic Dorstener Siebtechnik has now solved this problem and is going to present the first metal powder screening system with a closed gas circuit at the Formnext trade fair in Frankfurt am Main. For the first time, the SPC 500 system not only conveys the powder, but also the respective inert gas by means of a vacuum in the circuit. This closed circuit not only reduces the sometimes enormous costs for inert gases such as argon or nitrogen to a minimum during the pre- and post-processing of reactive materials, but for the first time the sensitive preparation process can also be fully automated and carried out without manual intervention. In this way, the aluminum

Blast cleaning for silo systems and bulk storage facilities
NT Service GmbH is revolutionising the removal of deposits in industrial plants with advanced blasting technology. Environmentally friendly technology with high efficiency and considerable savings potential for system operators NT Service GmbH is setting new standards in industrial deposit removal and environmental protection with its intelligent blasting technology. In contrast to conventional methods such as the Cardox system, which can generate CO₂ during cleaning and has a limited effect on hard deposits, NT Service’s intelligent blasting technology offers a more environmentally friendly and precise alternative that also reduces operating costs and increases plant safety. Cardox systems work with pressurised containers that release CO₂ to remove deposits - a process that can generate additional CO₂ emissions and therefore increase the environmental impact. In addition, the range of the Cardox system is limited as it relies solely on mechanical pressure to release blockages. In contrast, NT Service GmbH uses an innovative blast cleaning technology based on precisely calculated blasting processes that are customised to the requirements of the respective system. As a result, deposits

A.B.S. Silo- und Förderanlagen GmbH from Osterburken celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2024 as an internationally active manufacturer of textile, high-strength fabric silos for agriculture, industry and for the storage of wood pellets. The company from Osterburken in Baden-Württemberg has been manufacturing stable, flexible silos made of high-strength polyester fabric since 1984, which enable particularly gentle storage of bulk goods. 40 years of A.B.S. silo and conveyor systems When the word “silo” is mentioned, some people still think of huge, heavy and immovable metal towers. But it can also be more compact, lighter and more flexible: with the Flex-Silos from A.B.S. In the 1980s, company founder Adolf Lesk specialized in a new silo technology. The idea: to use textiles instead of metal. The fabric is just as stable and resilient, but significantly more sustainable and flexible. A design that proved successful. The company grew rapidly. In 2006, A.B.S. Silo- und Förderanlagen moved into a new company building in Osterburken with 1,300 square meters of office and production space. In terms of sustainability, the energy concept for heat and power supply has consisted of a heat pump, photovoltaics

IDV: Safety valves with a significantly higher flow rate
Depending on their size, the IDV safety valves with inline design from Bormann & Neupert by BS&B offer up to three times the flow capacity of conventional safety valves and are particularly compact and lightweight. Pressure relief valves protect production, transport and storage facilities in the chemical industry and process engineering from the dangers of unauthorised overpressure. Precise response behaviour and high flow capacities are decisive factors for functional safety, efficiency and economy. Thanks to its inline design, the IDV safety valve from Bormann & Neupert by BS&B offers up to three times the capacity of a conventional API safety valve that fulfils the same regulations and standards. Thanks to the increased flow capacity gained, engineers and operators are able to optimise their pressure safety systems and reduce the pipe configuration by one or more nominal sizes in many applications. Less weight, dimensions and costs Both connection flanges of the IDV valves - available in accordance with ANSI/ASME B16.5 or DIN - have identical dimensions and are in line. They can be mounted both horizontally and vertically, which further increases application flexibility.

OptiScreen HS harp screens, made for heavy-duty screening tasks
Optimum screening results thanks to the OptiScreen HS harp screens from Curt-Ebert-Siebtechnik; self-cleaning; avoids blockages; sharp grain separation The screen panels consist of individual continuous longitudinal wires corrugated in the screening plane with square screen openings in a diagonal hole arrangement. The individual longitudinal wires lying flat next to each other are held in place by PUR strips melted in at defined intervals so that the longitudinal wires between these cross-connections have a springy freedom of movement. OptiScreen HS harp screens have the advantage that the longitudinal wires lie exactly in the screen plane, particularly in the case of cross-tensioned screen panels. This makes it possible to increase the spacing of the PUR cross-connections and improve screen cleaning. The spacing of the PUR cross connections should be designed so that there is one cross connection on each of the cross supports of the screening machine frame. OptiScreen prevents blockages OptiScreen HS harp screens have square screen openings. The resilient freedom of movement of the individual longitudinal wires

Herbold Meckesheim part of a functioning circular economy
The remanufacturing of used machines is to Herbold Meckesheim like steel to its plants Herbold Meckesheim has been thinking about the circular economy from the very beginning. When the special machine builder offered its first solutions for plastics recycling some 40 years ago, not everyone understood its mission. Today, a world without plastics recycling is hard to imagine – and certainly not the future. From the very beginning, Herbold Meckesheim’s recycling solutions also took into account the life cycle of the machines themselves. They should not only contribute to a functioning circular economy, but also be part of it. With increasing scarcity of resources, rising energy costs, and growing environmental awareness, this perspective may become even more important in the upcoming years. Herbold Meckesheim had durability and sustainability in mind when considering its machine design four decades ago. Examples: From the beginning, no machines were made of cast iron because the material could break. The insides of the welded steel housings are covered

Masterflex is a TOP employer
We have been rated “very good” as an employer and awarded the TOP Employer. The certificate is valid for two years. The basis for the certification was an independent and representative employee survey and an HR interview. In the survey, employees were able to indicate, among other things, whether they would recommend their employer to others. Additional services provided by the employer as well as further development opportunities within the company and benefits were also used as evaluation criteria. “Taking part in the anonymous and independent survey was particularly important to us, as we value our employees highly and wanted to gain an insight into how we operate as an employer. We are naturally delighted with the rating. Our employees do a great job every day and we want to help them feel valued and comfortable with us,” says Christina Neubauer, Head of Human Resources at the Masterflex Group. The certificate is valid for two years.

Sustainably compacting with vibratory tables
Vibratory tables optimise packaging of bulk goods Vibratory tables are suitable for levelling cones when packaging bulk goods, e.g. in octabins, and making optimum use of the available volume. Any type of container can be easily placed on these systems - even with hand pallet trucks on low profile tables. Levelling and compacting the bulk material not only reduces storage and transport costs, but also avoids uneven weight distribution, which could result in material deformation and loss of quality. The instability of big bags, for example, can also be prevented in this way. The customised vibrating table NetterVibration enables the cost-saving and effective filling and packaging of all types of bulk goods with customised solutions and systems - individually tailored to the container used and/or adapted to specific customer requirements or production environments. These can be, for example, containers, mesh boxes, big bags, octabins and classic cartons. Industry-specific requirements, e.g. through the use of

Bucket elevators, an efficient solution
Bucket elevators, an efficient solution
How can you use your expensive soil economically efficient? This is possible with a bucket elevator. If you raise your product with an elevator to a height of, for example, 30 meters, you only need a ground surface of approximately 2 m². A belt conveyor quickly reaches a length of 60 meters, with supports the surface area needed will easily be 120 m². What you need for a bucket elevator * a good foundation * a metered supply of product * lateral support per 10 meter height Suitable means of transport The bucket elevator has already proven its value as an extremely reliable means of transport for the transport of dry materials such as grains and flours. Due to the development and application of rubber belts and plastic inserts, there is hardly any elongation and the powers to be transferred have been greatly improved. Because of this and the use of modern plastic cups, the elevator is also very suitable as a means of transport for sand, gravel and other abrasive
