APH-sampler for powders great succes in food- and chemical industries

Designed for the automatic sampling of powders in the food, animal feed, and chemical industries. Thanks to its hygienic design, it is highly suitable for applications in the food industry.

Principle

The APH uses a pneumatically driven plunger, which is inserted into the process line to collect powder samples. When closed, the plunger creates an airtight seal to prevent leakage. The sampler can be easily removed without tools for periodic cleaning. The standard version is made of 304 stainless steel with a glass bead-blasted finish, with an optional 316 stainless steel variant featuring a wet-blasted finish. The plunger itself is manufactured from FDA-compliant POM-C or an antistatic material containing graphite.

Advantages

  • Hygienic Design: Highly suitable for use in the food industry.
  • Suitable for Difficult Products: Efficient for sampling challenging, poorly flowing powders.
  • Flexible Capacity: Available in capacities ranging from 50cc to 300cc.

Pre-sieving, proportion, testing and weighing of the fractions starts as soon as the sample is fed into the tester. The WEMO in-line Kempink durability (PDI) tester meets todays automated sampling process requirements. Pre-sieving, proportion, testing and weighing of the fractions, starts as soon as the factory automation has led the sample to the tester. After the test cycle, the PLC communicates the data with corresponding references back to the MES system. Each batch can thus be tested, for an ascertained quality system. For a reliable, accurate measurement of the durability (PDI), fines from the process are separated in the rotating sieve on top of the tester. Each test thus begins with a clean sample of only pellets. After the sieve, a sample is measured in a compartment for an optimal test volume (approx. 200 cc). Transparent side panels visualize the process and state of maintenance. The service door gives access for periodic cleaning. The scale registers fines and pellets separately, so that the PLC can calculate PDI values. The remaining and tested pellets are discharged

WEMO-techniek relaunches activities with Van Mourik Group
WEMO-techniek was rescued by the Van Mourik Group in Ede, the Netherlands, after the parent company HeemHorst International BV in Nieuwleusen went bankrupt. From May 1, 2023, the activities of WEMO-techniek will be continued under the Van Mourik Group in Ede. ”This restart of WEMO-techniek, pulled along in the bankruptcy of Heemhorst International, is a great relief for me” says Bob Bles, who has already been in charge of all commercial activities of WEMO-techniek since April 1, 2016. ”Various parts of the Van Mourik Group offer good opportunities for product development and growth in sampling and automation around quality assurance. I find it nice and reassuring that I can maintain the relationships with the customers I have built over the years in this way.” says Bob. Marco van Mourik is happy with Bob’s arrival: ”he has a lot of experience in the field of sampling and test equipment for the animal feed industry, but I also see good opportunities in food and chemicals, where Van Mourik has a good network.”
