The PrimeTracker – no more belt misalignment
The PrimeTracker is an innovative system for belt tracking on conveyor systems, particularly used in industries with high demands on belt precision and operational availability. Functionality and Technical Features Conventional belt tracking systems usually intervene only after a significant deviation or misalignment of the conveyor belt has already occurred. This causes friction and increases wear, leading to considerable costs for maintenance and spare parts. The PrimeTracker adopts a different approach: - Early Correction: The system reacts as soon as the belt slightly strays from the center. Thanks to an innovative mechanism, the PrimeTracker immediately applies gentle corrective forces with minimal friction. - 360-Degree Freedom of Movement: The PrimeTracker features a flexible central bearing, allowing free movement in all 360°. This ensures extremely fast response times and reliably guides the belt back to the central position—without significant friction between belt and roller. - Self-Regulating Functionality: In normal operation, the PrimeTracker acts like a conventional conveyor roller and does not actively influence the belt.

Customized bucket elevator design: Why material testing is essential
In vertical conveying applications, the success of a bucket elevator does not begin with selecting the bucket type or motor power—it starts with a thorough understanding of the product to be lifted. Every bulk material reacts differently during transport, especially when elevated, and overlooking its specific behavior can lead to premature wear, product degradation, or operational failures. Product characterization Product characterization: The foundation of reliable vertical transport. When dealing with fragile, abrasive, greasy, or high-temperature materials, a generic elevator design often proves insufficient. Each material must be assessed for its physical properties to determine the optimal configuration for buckets, belts, and structural elements. Key parameters to analyze * Bulk density * Particle size and shape * Flow behavior and angle of repose * Humidity and fines content * Operating temperature * Abrasiveness and corrosiveness These values directly influence not only how the material is discharged from the buckets but also how it interacts with belts, chains, and contact surfaces during elevation. Laboratory tests and pilot trials Laboratory

Improper moisture control contributes to dust explosions
The good news is you can reduce the chances of a dust explosion with simple actions. One crucial step to take is measuring moisture. Precision moisture control plays a significant role in the powders and bulk solids industries. If a line has improper moisture levels, it can lead to product waste, unnecessary downtime and even safety hazards. A major concern of improper moisture levels is a dust explosion, which can seriously damage a facility. The good news is you can reduce the chances of a dust explosion with simple actions. One crucial step to take is measuring moisture. By implementing a moisture measurement system, you can easily monitor the moisture levels in products and make quick adjustments for increased quality. MoistTech’s NIR3000 measures moisture in real-time for an efficient, safe production line. Causes of Dust Explosions Dust explosions are a serious concern for powders and bulk solids lines. Impact of water-cement ratio on concrete brightness
The water-cement ratio is crucial for concrete surface brightness. Moisture variations in aggregates and mixing processes affect the color and brightness stability of bulk material concrete. The Role of Water-Cement Ratio in Concrete Brightness Differences in the water-cement ratio (w/c value) are the most frequent cause of color and brightness variations in concrete products. Efflorescence also contributes. Modern cements and additives may introduce additional influences. Pigments do not change their properties during concrete production and remain permanently bound to the binder. However, the binder itself changes its chemical structure through hydration, which affects concrete strength. The formation of fine structures leads to brightness, as seen in efflorescence. The higher the w/c value, the brighter the concrete surface. Influence of Moisture and Temperature on Surface Brightness In fresh concrete, water acts as a reactant for the hydration of the binder. Concrete does not simply dry out; rather, the water chemically reacts with hydraulic cement and additives. Higher temperatures lead to brighter concrete surfaces. The amount of water remaining

Weighing in motion; how to suppress dynamic effects New weighing tech enables accurate onboard measurements in motion, ensuring fresher food from sea or field to consumer.
Weighing in motion; how to suppress dynamic effects
New weighing tech enables accurate onboard measurements in motion, ensuring fresher food from sea or field to consumer. Fresh food is more than a luxury, it’s a necessity for taste, shelf life, and reduced waste. The quicker produce or seafood can be weighed, graded, and packaged after harvest or catch, the fresher it arrives to consumers. Ideally, this process would happen immediately on the harvester or ship. But until recently, the challenge of accurate weighing on moving platforms made this difficult. Why? The constant motion of ships and agricultural machines interferes with precision weighing. Movement across multiple axes (pitch, roll, and yaw) combined with variable gravitational forces and mechanical vibrations, results in massive measurement errors, sometimes exceeding ±44%. This instability makes accurate on-board weighing seem nearly impossible. 0.04% accuracy at sea Enter Penko Engineering. By leveraging expertise in high-speed measurement with exceptional internal resolution, they developed a weighing system specifically designed for extreme dynamic conditions.

Optimal Animal Feed Mixtures: Taste masking. Homogeneous compounds. Processing enzymes, organic acids or essential oils. Gentle processing of animal feed additives Feed additives for large livestock today fulfill a wide variety of tasks. Weight gain in fattening cattle, increasing milk yield or reducing phosphate excretion are just some of the issues in the feed industry. Enzymes, organic acids or essential oils perform specific tasks. Since the ban on prophylactic antibiotic administration, bactericidal oils have become an integral part of feeds. All these products are usually used in feed mixtures and must therefore be robust and free-flowing. Glatt fluid bed and spouted bed technology Processes such as spray stiffening, a special variant of spray granulation, embed oleoresins and other essential oils in a fatty matrix, turning them into compact additives that mix well. Coating processes allow taste masking of bad smelling and tasting active ingredients. Brady introduces Barcode readers with 99.995% accuracy
Brady’s new barcode readers are designed to improve data accuracy and can share data via most prominent industrial protocols. Brady Corporation, a worldwide specialist in industrial identification, launches a range of new industrial barcode readers that achieve 99.995% reading accuracy. Brady’s new barcode readers are designed to improve data accuracy and can share data via most prominent industrial protocols. 99.995% accuracy All 3 barcode readers, the V4500, V3200 and V2200, offer extremely high barcode reading accuracy. Brady says the readers encountered 1 issue per 2000 barcode scans when tested on wrinkled and reflective barcoded materials, while passing underneath the readers at 15 centimeters per second. To achieve the 99.995% accuracy, the readers use the proprietary, high performance CortexDecoder algorithm from Code Corporation, a Brady company. In addition, the readers are equipped with patented dual-field optics to accurately scan barcodes from afar, and from a variety of viewing angles. * [AHREF**SW**brady.co.uk/barcode-readers/v4500-barcode-reader-pid-br-v4500?sfdc=701UK00000M2GAiYAN&utm_

95% less material waste during starch bagging
AKD Toftlund (Denmark) was able to reduce the reject rate from 0.8% to just 0.04% using the GREIF-VELOX ValvoDetect sensor system. Valve bags are widely used in automated packaging lines in the food industry – especially for products such as cornstarch – because they offer many advantages in terms of storage and handling. However, defective bags or bag valves repeatedly cause significant disruptions in the filling process. A common scenario: The valve sticks to the bottom of the bag and cannot be opened correctly automatically during filling. As a result, the bag cannot be filled completely or at all. This leads to product losses, dust contamination, additional cleaning effort – and ultimately an unnecessarily high proportion of rejects. GREIF-VELOX expanded the BVPV 4.40 to include the high-precision ValvoDetect sensor system, which works in two test stages: # Variant Save: Even before the filling process, optical sensors check whether the bag valve has been opened correctly as soon as the bag sits on the spout. Faulty bags are ejected immediately. # Variant Clean: Before the sealing

Rotor Weigher RC for continuous weighing or controlled dosage
With the Rotor Weigher FRIEDRICH electronic a large number of poor flowing products can be measured, e.g. flour, shavings, chips, splints, powders, byproducts and bran. A horizontally aligned rotor is located inside the Rotor Weigher. It is driven at constant speed. The product is fed to the center of the rotor and accelerated to approx. 9 m/s. The occurring Coriolis force is gathered by a torsion spring and captured by a flux induction sensor. The system is completely proportional to the mass flow measurement. Material-specific characteristics such as flow characteristics or friction are not included in the measurement as errors. Applications: * Continuous weighing of bulk flow for implant control purpose and calculation of extraction * Frequency controlled dosage for production of blends or additives * A large number of poor flowing products can be measured, e.g. flour, shavings, chips, splints, powders, byproducts and bran.
