Carbon Black Powdered carbon black is a very fine fluid-like powder with an extremely low bulk density. These fine powders, often referred to as “fluff,” can be challenging to handle and convey. Care must be taken to avoid the powder caking and clogging the conveyor, resulting in downtime and increased safety hazards during maintenance and cleaning. Additionally, finely powdered carbon black can easily become airborne, making controlling dust emissions of utmost importance. Poeth Hammermill line for residual flows from breweries/malthouses

Poeth delivered a hammer mill line for grinding high-quality residual flows such as malt germ from breweries/malthouses. The line will have a grinding capacity of 14 tons/hour. In the preliminary phase, extensive tests were carried out in Poeth’s test facility, so that the correct configuration could be determined. A weighing screw ensures controlled pre-dosing of the mill with an accuracy of 1-2%. After grinding the product, the water is added to a solid-liquid mixer in the correct ratio via a flow meter and finally pumped to a bulk truck, where it can be delivered in liquid form to the animal feed industry. Poeth hammermils are specialy designed for the grinding of raw materials in the feedmill and associated industries. For the grinding of special ingredients where cleanability and accessibility are important, a new series of hammer mills has been developed especially for smaller capacities. More and more products rejected for reasons such as colour or overproduction are finding high-value applications as ingredients for new products. Poeth turn-key project for VTTI Bio-Energy

VTTI Bio-Energy produces 23 million cubic metres of biogas. Poeth supplies pellet presses, coolers, conveyors, filling systems, silos, steel construction, etc. The company VTTI Bio-Energy will ferment 300,000 tonnes of manure and 25,000 tonnes of organic residues annually at the De Spinder business park near Tilburg and process the digestate into manure pellets. Poeth Z-Conveyor for fine manganese powders

Bends in a pneumatic conveyor system for manganese powders wore out every 3-4 weeks. Endurance tests with the slow Z-conveyor have shown that this is a viable solution. In the past, fine manganese powders were often transported using pneumatic conveyors. However, even at low speeds (dense phase conveying) the wear on the bends was considerable. The bends had to be replaced every 3-4 weeks. For this reason, the slow Z-Conveyor transport (0.2-0.4 m/s) has been chosen for a new line. In order not to run unnecessary risks, extensive endurance tests were carried out in advance on the Poeth test installation. 100% residue-free emptying via XXL-bomb door

Poeth Solids Processing developed a mixer to fit a low space. A three metre long bottom valve ensures 100% residue free discharge. For one of our long-term customers who specialises in baking raw materials, Poeth custom-made a 4 m3 single-shaft agitator. The company had an old belt mixer, but it no longer met current requirements such as residue-free, mixing accuracy and mixing time. The new mixer had to fit into the existing space. All single-axis paddle mixers available on the market were rejected. Poeth Solids Processing was asked to look for a solution and developed a bespoke mixer specifically for this application. The use of a 3 metre long bottom valve ensures 100% residue free discharge. This bottom valve is placed along the entire length of the trough, from end plate to end plate. No edges where the product can remain after the batch has been discharged. Together with the customer, the system was extensively tested for issues such as tightness, homogeneity and mixing time. The new power plant of MAV Elektrik in Göynük, Bolu (Turkey) converts chicken manure into green electricity. The expansion consists of a completely new brewhouse including the part for the treatment of the raw materials, consisting of malt and grains. The entire part for treating the grains is provided turn-key by Poeth Solids Processing. Lindemans Brewery from Sint-Pieters-Leeuw is investing 28 million euros in a new location on the Ruysbroeckveld. This is because the demand for their beer from the US and Asia continues to rise. Driessen Food Extrusion is very satisfied with the result of the new Food Extrusion filling line.
