Poeth realises new extension to lindemans brewery

The expansion consists of a completely new brewhouse including the part for the treatment of the raw materials, consisting of malt and grains. The entire part for treating the grains is provided turn-key by Poeth Solids Processing.
Lindemans Brewery from Sint-Pieters-Leeuw is investing 28 million euros in a new location on the Ruysbroeckveld. This is because the demand for their beer from the US and Asia continues to rise.
The Pajotse brewery is currently located along the Lenniksebaan in the Leeuwse sub-municipality of Vlessenbeek. That branch was expanded considerably a few years ago, but that is no longer enough. Lindemans is therefore pumping another 28 million euros into a new location in the Ruysbroeckveld business zone in the borough of Ruisbroek. Last year, exports to China rose to 75 percent. Lindemans will start using the new brewing hall in the second half of this year.

The expansion consists of a completely new brewhouse including the part for the treatment of the raw materials, consisting of malt and grains. The entire part for treating the grains is provided turn-key by Poeth Solids Processing.

Broadly speaking, the project consists of:

  • intake of means of medium bulk car, big-bags and/or bagged goods, 3 pcs. 70 m3 storage silos,
  • cleaning of the raw materials (sieving, cleaning/removal of any stones and steel parts),
  • Weighing and dosing of the raw materials,
  • Conditioning of the malt,
  • Eco-mill for grinding specialty grains, and a conventional roller mill for treating the various malts,
  • Various transport systems (ATEX-safe transports such as Z-Conveyors),
  • Control / Cabling / Software of the entire process line.

Poeth Ecomill/ Conditioner

In the brewing world, malt is ground with a hammer mill. Hammer mills use quite a lot of power and do not have an optimal grinding result for a conventional brewing process. In addition, the installations are because ATEX safety is an important issue with this method of processing.

Ecomill 30-50% consumer

Ecomill develops which uses 30-50% less than a hammer mill and powers the total grinding system much more compactly than a hammer mill (smaller filter, smaller mill, no under-bunkered), the costs for the additional additional ATEX facilities are low.
the malt is moistened prior to the milling step. This process step partly determines the grinding result; moistening the fleece on the grain ensures optimum grinding. This is very important for good filtration during the brewing process.
