Bends in a pneumatic conveyor system for manganese powders wore out every 3-4 weeks. Endurance tests with the slow Z-conveyor have shown that this is a viable solution. In the past, fine manganese powders were often transported using pneumatic conveyors. However, even at low speeds (dense phase conveying) the wear on the bends was considerable. The bends had to be replaced every 3-4 weeks. For this reason, the slow Z-Conveyor transport (0.2-0.4 m/s) has been chosen for a new line. In order not to run unnecessary risks, extensive endurance tests were carried out in advance on the Poeth test installation. The test installation can be run in a ”closed-loop”, so that endurance tests can be carried out relatively easily. Further advantages: - the conveyor can be equipped with multiple inlets and multiple outlets - affordable spare parts - very suitable for Atex applications, where no additional long-term facilities are required.

squeezing / smashing / massage / crushing of big-bags The big-bag is a forklift truck or electric pallet truck placed in the system. After the door is closed and the system has been safely reset, the system can start. The big bag is massaged by a system equipped with hydraulic cylinders, without damaging the big bag and without coming into contact with the product. An integrated lifting system i.c.w. an automatic turntable ensures that the big-bag can be pressed on all sides. The PLC program runs through all actions independently. The system is suitable for installation in an ATEX zone 22 version.

Poeth Solids Processing developed a mixer to fit a low space. A three metre long bottom valve ensures 100% residue free discharge. For one of our long-term customers who specialises in baking raw materials, Poeth custom-made a 4 m3 single-shaft agitator. The company had an old belt mixer, but it no longer met current requirements such as residue-free, mixing accuracy and mixing time. The new mixer had to fit into the existing space. All single-axis paddle mixers available on the market were rejected. Poeth Solids Processing was asked to look for a solution and developed a bespoke mixer specifically for this application. The use of a 3 metre long bottom valve ensures 100% residue free discharge. This bottom valve is placed along the entire length of the trough, from end plate to end plate. No edges where the product can remain after the batch has been discharged. Together with the customer, the system was extensively tested for issues such as tightness, homogeneity and mixing time. The controller retrieves the recipes from an external ERP system so that the operator no longer has to enter the recipes manually, thus avoiding typing errors. Breatec B.V. (part of BRAIN Biotech AG) develops enzymes and enzyme mixtures for flour mills, bread improver manufacturers, pasta and noodle producers and distributors. Breatec expansion Due to huge demand for natural ingredients in the form of enzymes, Breatec decided to expand production. Breatec was looking for an automated line that could dose microcomponents accurately, but above all could ensure a maximum emission standard of 0.6 mg/m³ dust load for the operator. Food ingredients such as enzymes can be harmful if inhaled frequently in too high a concentration. The new extension had to be built into the existing (limited) space. Cooperation Poeth-Breatec Breatec challenged six suppliers to set up a smart basic concept. Poeth Solids Processing has realized a milling process for vegetable raw materials as a system integrator at RMG BV. Poeth supplied the complete air management from his own house. Over the past five years, the market for meat substitutes has grown by an average of four percent annually, but that growth is accelerating. An increase of ten percent is expected next year. This development is driving up the demand for vegetable proteins. RMG BV in De Klomp (near Veenendaal), supplier of vegetarian raw materials, has therefore invested in a new grinding line for protein-rich products such as soy, peas and grains. Air management A Hosokawa Alpine fine grinding mill is located in the process line. RMG approached various system integrators for the air management of the process, including Poeth Solids Processing from Tegelen.
