Poeth realizes a new fertilizer plant

Powered by around 2000 solar panels

In order to maintain production capacity now and in the future, Fertira decided in 2024 to expand the existing factory with two additional pressing lines, thereby doubling capacity. In addition, the silo block for raw material storage had to be significantly enlarged and more bulk storage had to be created for the pellets and crumbs produced. ‘The starting points for the new factory were minimal product damage, minimal drag and high accuracy and homogeneity of the mixtures,’ says Isabel. ‘We also felt it was essential for the new factory to offer maximum flexibility. Only then can we deliver customised solutions to our customers in addition to standard formulas.’
In their search for a machine builder who could realise the new factory, Wim Blancke and Isabel Ranschaert ended up at Poeth in Tegelen. ‘Our company operates in a huge niche market. Poeth is one of the few companies that is at home in this market. They also have experience with large projects.’ In recent years, the Limburg-based system integrator and machine builder has realised large-scale projects both in the Benelux and in distant foreign countries. ‘We already knew Poeth well from previous projects. They also came up with well-thought-out solutions for our production process. Exactly what we are looking for in a partner.’
