Recently Concetti have scored successes with their new fully automated FFS bag filling lines for light bulk density powders. Upgrading an old-style valve bagger to the FFS technology allows the bag shape and dimension to be optimised, thus producing drastic improvements in the whole logistic chain, and appealing cost saving. Previously, these powders were packed into paper valve bags but after preliminary tests, Concetti proposed a “Continua 600” Tubular Form, Fill, Seal machine with screw fed gross weigher for 10 to 15Kg bags. Concetti has now implemented the use of special dosing augers to increase the product density, increase performance and optimise the bag dimensions. With de-aeration lances to remove air from the product during and after filling, the “Continua” produces a more compact bag. By deploying multiple ALFRA dosing and weighing systems the amount of manual additives and manual loading of silos is significantly reduced. Micro and small components are dosed out of thirty flexible silos from an ALFRA Flexible Component Dosing system and an ALFRA Small Component Dosing system out of thirty flexible silos. Mixers humidifying fly ashes are part of AVA’s daily routine, however, recently the demand for converting fly ashes into suspensions has been increasing significantly. This requires the fly ashes to be over-humidified in order to obtain a pumpable final product, which subsequently may be dumped or used as stowing material. A further benefit of this method is that highly reactive ashes may be humidified to such degree that they react to completion and still are dust-free. One of these AVA plants in a semi-mobile design has just commenced operation in Croatia. The ashes are suspended in an AVA continuous mixer with a throughput of 35t/h, and subsequently dumped directly via a pump. AVA has delivered a package unit containing the mixer, a water dosing system, and a control unit.

Improves hygiene and prevents loss of ingredients Companies that take delivery of the ingredients used for their production processes in bags of between 10 kg and 90 kg actually lose between 0.4% and 1% of these often expensive ingredients due to the residues left behind when the bags are emptied.
