TDR, also known as guided Microwave or guided Radar) and offers an excellent alternative to conventional level measurements. The NGM enables precise and reliable continuous level measurement and point level detection in almost all liquids and bulk materials. This innovative device has almost no installation restrictions - it can be mounted in small tanks, tall and narrow nozzles and it measures precisely even with difficult tank geometries or close to interfering structures. NGM uses TDR Technology: low-energy, high frequency electromagnetic impulses, generated by the sensor´s circuitry, are propagated along the probe which is immersed in the liquid to be measured. When these impulses hit the surface of the liquid, part of the impulse energy is reflected back up the probe to the circuitry which then calculates the fluid level from the time difference between the impulses sent and the impulses reflected. The sensor can output the analysed level as a continuous measurement

SMC has unveiled a new guided cylinder to complement its MGP Series that is filling a gap in the market for a wide guided cylinder that can handle large work pieces. The MGPW has been designed with improved plate rotation torque that is three times larger than the standard MGP Series. This has been achieved by doubling the size of the guide pitch and re-positioning the guide components, which have also led to improvements in the non-rotating accuracy of the plate. Although similar in weight to the MGP, the MGPW has 170% more volume by using anodised aluminium and optimising the dimensions of various components. Easy to set-up and mount, therefore reducing labour costs, the MGPW can be used with two colour D-M9*W indication solid state auto switches or alternative round auto switches which can be fitted directly, removing the need for attaching brackets onto two surfaces of the cylinder. This transporter on air cushions with a lightweight chassis has a maxium capacity of 4 tons and will be deployed in a clean room environment. The application consists to exchange the position of various mixing tanks. The transporter frame as well as certain parts are made out of stainless steel 316L.

Thanks to the modular design of the Prorunner mk1 and mk5 it is possible to transport the machine in parts and to assemble it on location. This leads to lower transport costs and prevents all kinds of measures being necessary in order to place fully assembled product elevators in the correct place on location. System integrators can optionally take care of assembly themselves. A fully assembled product elevator takes up a lot more space than all its loose parts together. This means that delivery in parts entails much lower transport costs than the transport of a fully assembled machine. RETSCH has further perfected the compact bench top model of the jaw crusher series. The new BB 50 offers many features which ensure efficient and convenient usage. The speed can be set between 550 and 950 min-1 to allow for perfect adaptation to sample requirements. Another advantage is the so-called zero-point adjustment which helps to compensate for wear of the breaking jaws. Operating the BB 50 is simple and safe. The large hopper facilitates material feed, the capacity of the collecting receptacle has been doubled. The fold-back hopper can be easily removed without using tools, just like the crusher arm. Berthold Technologies announces the availability of the new electromagnetic mould level system ECcast. ECcast measures the level of molten metal reliably and extremely precisely, and is not affected by casting powder or slag. Used as a stand-alone system ECcast doesn’t require a radioactive source. However it can be also used together with the radiometric measurement system GAMMAcast to combine the advantages of both technologies: larger measuring range, automatic start-up, redundancy and determination of powder thickness.
