For A Better Environment - Master-PURgreen
Now: The greener option from Masterflex - Hoses made of Renewable Resources The new Master-PURgreen hoses add yet more value to the Masterflex product range - these ‘green’ hose versions are manufactured from up to 52% renewable resources. Bio-plastics are being used evermore frequently. Especially in recent times times when climate change and environmental issues are playing an even greater role than before. Renewable resources and energy sources are the keywords, which have attained an increasingly greater importance in the context of environmental protection. All agricultural and forestry resources not used for nutrition or feeding purposes are raw materials, which are renewable within a relatively short period of time. “Nowadays, the majority of our customers feel it’s important to make a contribution to a better environment” said Christian Horstkoetter, Sales & Marketing Manager at Masterflex AG, Germany. “Sustainability is a key issue across the board in all industries, and one to which we want to contribute. We want to

Innovative colour sheet-fed gravure printing press for high quality pack pr
A pleasing appearance stimulates consumer buying decision ATEX-certified air motor lifts and lowers the ink sumps It’s all down to the packaging. Most consumer purchasing decisions are made on the spot, in just a couple of seconds. The design, shape and presentation of the pack make the difference - guiding consumers towards making their selection from the overflowing retail shelves and multiple products so prevalent in today’s market. The machine engineering company H.C. Moog GmbH has been developing and building sheet-fed gravure printing presses for the production of high-quality packaging materials. But what actually is gravure printing? Gravure printing means that the printing elements are in the form of etched depressions - known as cells - nowadays generally produced by laser onto the printing form (cylinder or polymer plate). Before printing, the entire printing form is dipped into the ink bath, and excess ink at the surface of the print cylinder is then removed by a doctor blade. Only the ink for printing

Special Lindor Mixer for new compounding line in China
Special Lindor Mixer for new compounding line in China
Lindor who are based in the Netherlands have designed and built a special heated mixer for Switzerland based BUSS AG. The mixing drum has been designed using state of the art technologies. The heated mixer is being used for enhancing product characteristics of special compounds which are produced by BUSS compounding lines in several countries. BUSS AG is a global market leader in building special process equipment such as kneaders for producing (plastic) compounds. In the process of producing special HDPE and LDPE compounds, the Lindor mixer with heated mixing drum, is used for soaking the granulate with a special liquid. Also while mixing, the heated liquid is being sprayed onto the granulate, which enables the materials to gain the required characteristics within a defined conversion time. Mr. Hans Hügel, Sales Manager Overseas Business at BUSS AG, comments: “We have been working together with Lindor for about five years and we have integrated the heated

Hot Problem Solved GreCon fire protection concept sees to safe beet chip drying at Nordzucker
Hot Problem Solved
GreCon fire protection concept sees to safe beet chip drying at Nordzucker When drying beet chips, a by-product of the sugar production that is popular as animal feed, fire can easily occur in the dryer drums and the downstream transport ducts. Due to very high drying temperatures of about 600 degrees, glowing particles can occur even in the area of humid chips. If these glowing particles reach the dried material at the dryer outlet, they can result in big glowing embers. If ignition sources reach the downstream transport or exhaust ducts, fire can spread out in large parts of the dry chip processing and destroy, at worst, complete production plants. Although spark detection and temperature monitoring have been standard in these plant areas for many years, an automatic extinguishment has, however, been missing in the entire industry. This insufficient safety equipment has been a very unsatisfactory situation for Europe`s second largest sugar manufacturer, Nordzucker AG, for a long time and led to cases of damage and production interruptions

X-ray technology from Bavaria for world-wide contaminant detection Safest contaminant detection method is increasingly used in the food industry
X-ray technology from Bavaria for world-wide contaminant detection
Safest contaminant detection method is increasingly used in the food industry The Bavarian company S+S Separation and Sorting Technology GmbH, located in hall 4, stand 4-160, is primarily focused on the Raycon product inspection system, in their presentation at FachPack 2012. Ever increasing consumer expectations force producers in the food industry to use sophisticated, consistent, high-speed methods for food inspection in order to guarantee product safety. Digital X-ray technology is both proven and safest method for the detection of contaminants and is increasingly used in the food industry worldwide. X-ray inspection systems meet all quality requirements: they are effective in the detection of contaminants such as magnetic and non-magnetic metals, glass, ceramics, stones, raw bones, and some types of plastics, and even identify aluminium packaging materials or other metallic foils. X-ray inspection systems detect many other kinds of product defects such as broken, malformed, or missing products, material clumping, air inclusions, and over-

New Mould Level Detector for the Use in Strong Electromagnetic Field
New Mould Level Detector for the Use in Strong Electromagnetic Field
The mould level detector GAMMAcast LB 6750 was specifically designed for continuous casting applications, where electromagnetic breaks or stirrers are used inside the mould. Containing state-of-the-art photodiode technology the detector provides best measuring accuracy and reliability for these challenging environments. Its thermal and mechanical stability against shock and vibration strains ensures a long-term operation. The innovative connection technology PlugProtect is used as a standard, to safely prevent from moisture intrusion through the cable connection. In combination with the castXpert LB 452 evaluation unit the GAMMAcast LB 6750 detector provides lots of technical advantages like detector temperature control, automatic HV adjustment, data logging etc. for an enhanced control of the continuous casting process.

RETSCH Cyclone Mills Ideally suited for temperature-sensitive materials
RETSCH Cyclone Mills
Ideally suited for temperature-sensitive materials For the grinding of solids the use of a cyclone can be beneficial, depending on the material properties. The rotation of the mill’s rotor or a connected vacuum cleaner produces a rotating air flow inside the cyclone, thus optimizing the air throughput. As a result, sample and grinding tools are cooled and material discharge is improved. These effects are particularly beneficial when grinding temperature-sensitive materials. Further advantages are the convenient recovery of the sample material as well as the possibility to process larger sample volumes. RETSCH’s line of laboratory mills includes various models which can be equipped with a cyclone. Whereas the rotor mill TWISTER has an integrated cyclone, the Ultra Centrifugal Mill ZM 200 can be optionally equipped with a cyclone and collecting vessels of various sizes. For the RETSCH Cutting Mills a combination of cyclone and vacuum cleaner is available. Benefits at a glance: • Optimized air throughput •
