PowTech 2013 expects stable level of activity
Last event`s exhibition space almost rented There can be no question of a bad mood, says Claus Rättich, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse, commenting on the impacts of the present economic situation on the coming PowTech. “Although economic prospects have become distinctly strained, we still expect the number of exhibitors and visitors at PowTech to remain stable.” Process engineers from all over the world will meet again at PowTech in Nuremberg from April 23-25, 2013 to discuss technological innovations in size reduction, dosing, mixing, screening, and granulation of powders and bulk solids. At the upcoming PowTech , 95 percent of the exhibition space has already been rented. More than 700 exhibitors will present products and services from the segments of mechanical processing technologies and instrumentation in the five PowTech halls. They are augmented by about 300 exhibitors at TechnoPharm, who will display the latest developments in process technologies, cleanrooms, and packaging

Full speed ahead for e-mobility DEPRAG supplies new assembly line for power controllers
Full speed ahead for e-mobility
DEPRAG supplies new assembly line for power controllers A million electric cars on Germany’s roads by 2020. This is the ambitious target set by the Federal Government in its bid to continue the battle against climate-destroying CO2 emissions. It believes that e-mobility is a significant key technology to create a sustainable transport system for the future, especially where the power is produced from renewable energy sources. Yet e-mobility is still in its infancy: it is estimated that there are only around 1500 electrically powered vehicles on our roads today. That is why all those involved - policy-makers, industrialists and scientists - are working flat out to resolve all the outstanding issues. A great deal more research and development work is required before electric cars are fully ready for the market and before consumers will accept them. Lithium ion batteries replace the fuel tank in an electric car. Intensive research is under way to improve these. In a statement, industry policy-makers said: “Our aim is

4B increases capacity of STARCO steel elevator buckets
4B increases capacity of STARCO steel elevator buckets
4B Braime has invested in tooling to increase the capacities of their popular STARCO steel elevator buckets; as a result, all 4B’s STARCO steel buckets now have the same or greater capacities than comparable buckets of their competitors. The Starco bucket was originally invented by 4B Braime’s French subsidiary, SETEM, in the 1980s and was the first low profile elevator bucket to use centrifugal discharge on a parabolic elevator head to achieve much higher capacities on a given elevator leg. As such, the STARCO bucket has revolutionised the elevator buckets market. The Starco elevator bucket has been engineered to provide perfect fill & discharge for a wide range of products. It operates at wide speed range, up to 4.55m/s. It is not surprising that the STARCO bucket has become a very popular bucket, and has been copied by a number of companies, with varying results. In a range of tests that 4B has carried out to compare their own 4B STARCO buckets with
