MOLOScode – Safety coupling with hose detection What makes MOLOScode better than other coupling monitoring systems?
MOLOScode – Safety coupling with hose detection
What makes MOLOScode better than other coupling monitoring systems? There are coupling monitoring systems in which the reading distance between the RFID read head and the ID tag is 30 mm or greater. This can be advantageous for many RFID applications, but it is fatal for monitoring a coupling point. The RFID system still reports “coupling closed” even though it is already 20 mm or more open. This can have dramatic consequences for operating personnel, especially during cleaning processes with 85 °C hot detergent. Other systems have the ID tag attached to the hose with a chain. This is a complex system, as not only the hose must be connected with the fixed coupling but also the ID tag with the reader. This solution does not eliminate the risk of confusion, as the length of the chain means that the ID tag could also be connected to a neighboring read head. Still other systems install the RFID technology in relatively large plastic housings, which are laboriously attached to special couplings. These can easily be damaged when

How RF Technology Works RF Technology Decoded by UWT – How Electrical Signals Deliver Reliable Level Detection
How RF Technology Works
RF Technology Decoded by UWT – How Electrical Signals Deliver Reliable Level Detection RF technology (Radio Frequency Capacitance) uses high-frequency measurement for precise level detection. Unlike purely capacitive sensors, it detects not only changes in capacitance but also the specific resistance of the medium. This ensures reliable measurement even under challenging conditions. How does RF technology work? The principle is based on an electrical voltage divider. Together with the medium, the probe forms a measuring system that detects both capacitance and impedance. Impedance describes the total electrical resistance a medium presents to an alternating current. It indicates how strongly a material reacts to electrical signals – and this change is exactly what RF technology uses for reliable detection. When the material comes into contact with the electrode, the capacitance increases abruptly – a clear signal that the level has been reached. The longer the active electrode, the more sensitively the probe responds. This allows the measurement

Vortex angel hair trap enhances production efficiency
The Vortex angel hair trap is helping a plastic manufacturer in the south of the US rid their system of those devilish angel hairs that causes plastics manufacturers such headaches. A state-of-the-art compounding plant faced significant production challenges due to the formation of ”angel hair” in its pneumatic conveying systems. These plastic strands caused equipment clogs, product contamination, and increased operational costs. By implementing the Vortex Angel Hair Trap, the plant successfully eliminated these issues, leading to a substantial improvement in production efficiency, a reduction in maintenance-related downtime, and enhanced final product quality. The challenge of angel hair in plastics production In the plastic compounding industry, the pneumatic conveyance of plastic pellets is a standard process. However, this process often generates thin, fibrous strands of plastic known as ”angel hair,” ”streamers,” or ”snake skins.” While seemingly minor, the accumulation of angel hair presents a significant operational challenge. It can obstruct conveying lines, contaminate raw materials, and degrade the quality of the final

REMBE CO.Pilot Success Story – Saalemühle Alsleben
The early detection of fire hazards is one of the greatest challenges in milling operations. Enormous airflows and closed processes mean that smoke or heat often become noticeable only when it is already too late. Saalemühle Alsleben, Germany’s largest family-run milling group, has partnered with REMBE to develop a solution. With the CO.Pilot, an innovative CO detection concept was implemented, based on highly sensitive laser absorption spectroscopy and differential measurements between the inlet and exhaust air. This approach filters out external interference and provides reliable real-time data. The result was a breakthrough: the CO.Pilot detected the very first traces of carbon monoxide - clear indicators of incipient smouldering processes - long before conventional sensors would have reacted. The stable measurement curves made it possible to define safe alarm thresholds, initiate immediate protection measures, and prevent incidents before they could escalate. This success story impressively demonstrates the key strength of the CO.Pilot: combining safety and efficiency in a single solution - protecting equipment, avoiding unplanned downtime, and proving that reliable

Concrete Quality in Focus: Innovative Monitoring in Truck Mixer Drums
New measuring system from Franz Ludwig GmbH optimizes concrete quality control directly in the truck mixer drum to increase precision and efficiency on the construction site. The quality of concrete is crucial for construction projects. Franz Ludwig GmbH, with almost half a century of experience in moisture measurement of bulk materials, has developed an innovative measuring system for truck mixer drums: the FL-Mobimic-Inspector. This system aims to precisely monitor concrete quality and thus minimize fluctuations, for example in water content, which can significantly affect concrete properties. It generates process-relevant data directly in the drum of the concrete truck mixer to ensure the high performance of concrete produced in precast or ready-mix concrete plants. Comprehensive Data for Optimal Concrete Consistency The FL-Mobimic-Inspector collects a variety of parameters relevant to concrete quality, including water content (optionally as w/c ratio or in l/m³), consistency, slump, temperature, drum rotation direction and speed, drum filling level, and even the amount of wash water in an empty mixing drum. Central positioning of

Moisture measurement under the conveyor belt Robust capacitive moisture measurement through the underside of the conveyor belt for demanding bulk material processes.
Moisture measurement under the conveyor belt
Robust capacitive moisture measurement through the underside of the conveyor belt for demanding bulk material processes. Classification of the measurement method In many bulk material processes, online moisture measurement is typically performed from above on the conveyor belt. However, not every plant provides suitable conditions for this approach. Problems occur in particular when the material height is low, the particle size distribution varies significantly between coarse and fine fractions, or when the operation involves heavy contamination and mechanical stress. Under these conditions, stable and reproducible measurements from above are often not achievable. In such cases, an alternative installation point has proven effective. Moisture measurement is performed from underneath, through the conveyor belt. Design and operating principle The sensor is mounted in a sled made of hardened tool steel directly beneath the belt. The sled and the ceramic measuring surface remain in mechanical contact with the underside of the conveyor belt. The robust design is engineered to operate reliably
