The accurate dosing of powders, flakes or granules is a widespread operation in all types of process industries, and for various process applications such as feeding of mixers and reactors or filling of bags. The right selection ensures recipe consistency, automated production and prevents product rejects. Gericke manufactures a broad range of feeders for use in applications in the raw materials, chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries. To find the most suitable feeder, a number of points have to be considered. A precise dosing operation requires a high performance feeding unit, adapted to the rheology of each of the products to be dosed, capable of a very wide range of feed rates in order to deliver a high rate of flow to limit the duration of the operation but also a very low flow rate to adjust the flow to the required precision. User-friendly docking and easy, manual operation by the driver are given here. The product is protected during filling, a significant time saving is achieved during maneuvering and positioning, and waiting times are effectively shortened. Another advantage of our loading telescope: Vehicles of different heights can be loaded, i.e. it can be adjusted in height and swiveled. For the loading of railroad wagons or trucks, different versions are available, depending on the product.

Poeth recently realized for the company P.C. van Tuijl Kesteren B.V. a complete mixing line for calf milk replacer powders and feed concentrates. In particular, residue-freeness / carry-over was one of the most important spearheads. The total project includes: - intake of raw materials from big bags and bagged goods - pre-breaking of lumpy powders - control sieving + metal detection - fine grinder - Nauta mixer - control sieving - transport to silos and/or packaging - big-bag filling line with rails (settlement of airy powders) A wide range of powders are pre-tested on the Z-Conveyor in the Poeth test facility. Extensive testing has been carried out to determine which configuration is most suitable for this diverse range of products such as fro example: - high fat content (such as e.g. fat cores) - very fine aqueous powders - abrasive powders - mixtures that are sensitive to separation The complete engineering of the new factory was provided by John Swinkels (Project Engineer - Poeth) in close collaboration with van Tuijl. Sinfimasa designed a double auger with screw conveyors and a bucket elevator for a difficult material, consisting of very different fractions. Heterogenous material On this occasion, our client is a waste treatment plant that needed to transport fine particles from a shredding machine. The bulk material to be transported was very heterogenous: it consisted of 60% rubber and plastics, 15% glass, soil and minerals, 10% textiles and wood, 10% paints and oxides, and 5% metals. The material flow was 7 tonnes per hour, with a grain size of 0 to 20 mm, a density of 600 kg/m3, and a moisture content of 10 to 15%. Closed screw conveyors A conveyor belt was difficult to use, as spillage of material would cause an environmental problem. The solution was to design a system of closed screw conveyors that prevent the spillage of product. In addition, it also avoids manpower in the route and possible accidents with rollers and drums of a conveyor belt. The silo has a volume of 60m³ with a diameter of 3.000mm and a height of almost 12 metres. Malt is, among other things, one of the plant parts that gives flavour to beer. Unfortunately, this raw material is also subject to natural phenomena such as condensation. In order to guarantee good quality, the correct storage of malt is essential. The M.I.P. silo offers protection against all weather conditions and the stored malt is kept in a stable way.
