Composite silo for the brewing industry
Composite silo 60m³ Ø 3.000mm, explosion panels, over/under pressure valve
Together with a partner, M.I.P. was asked to supply a silo for a French brewery for the storage of malt. The silo has a volume of 60m³ with a diameter of 3.000mm and a height of almost 12 metres.
Malt is, among other things, one of the plant parts that gives flavour to beer. Unfortunately, this raw material is also subject to natural phenomena such as condensation. In order to guarantee good quality, the correct storage of malt is essential. The M.I.P. silo offers protection against all weather conditions and the stored malt is kept in a stable way. The high thermal insulation value of the composite silo makes it insensitive to condensation, which prevents the stored malt from going mouldy. The silo is also weatherproof, corrosion- and chemical-resistant, strong, durable and low-maintenance. Because the silo is equipped with seamless, mirror-smooth inner walls, the flow of malt is promoted. The silo complies with all legal standards that apply to the storage of foodstuffs.
The silo has a resinous coloured Uv-resistant finish with the brewery’s logo on it. For safety reasons, the silo is fitted with explosion panels and an over/under pressure valve.
