Sinfimasa presents a solution for dosing very fine, explosive bulk solids, in this case active ingredients of medicines. In a practical situation, dosing of 300 litres per hour of micronised bulk product (active ingredients of medicines) was required. As the substance was explosive, a machine with ATEX GAS 1 certification was provided. Sinfimasa designed a stainless steel 316 tube screw feeder, suitable for ATEX zone 1 (2G). A screw of 70 mm and a tube of 80 mm were chosen, so that there is a large clearance. The screw is driven by a 0.75 kW ATEX certified motor gearbox. All parts that may come into contact with the product, such as seals, plastics, grease, etc., are FDA-compliant thanks to the hygienic, easy-to-clean design. The product itself is a sticky product, so the tube is manufactured with a glossy polished (g220) inner surface and an industrial satin matt outer surface. Due to the light weight of this silo, it was possible to place the silo on an existing frame. Because of the good thermal properties and smooth inner walls, the composite silo was the best choice for the customer. The silo is very complete with toprailing in galvanised steel and handrailing 1.250mm height. The platform on top of the silo can be reached by a cage ladder. When the silo is full, there is an optical and acoustic signal. The aeration set in the funnel ensures an easy flow of the cement.

Non-contact continuous level measurement UWT (UK) Limited proposed the use of the free-radiating radar NivoRadar® NR 3100 which could be supplied with an aiming flange. The integrated aiming flange allowed the radar to be mounted in the same position as the previous acoustic wave device which was close to the silo side wall and which allowed for the narrow 4˚ beam to be aimed towards the lowest point of the silo. When the surface layer of tarmacked areas is removed, the resulting waste material known as planings, can be recycled and reused. BG Europa Ltd approached 4B Braime requesting technical advice on the manufacture of a new bucket & belt elevator to be installed at an Asphalt plant in South Wales. Although familiar with bucket & chain elevators, the customer had no technical experience with buckets & belts so requested the expertise of 4B Engineers. The bucket elevator would elevate RAP (Recycled Asphalt Planings), and use a belt instead of chain, and standard 4B pressed buckets instead of fabricated buckets commonly used in the construction industry. 4B Braime were asked to provide a design proposal detailing suitable speed, power requirements, shaft & casing sizes, and component specifications to achieve the desired

APPLICATION The Pneumatic Knocker is used for bulk goods with flow problems, such as bridging, funnel flow and stagnant zones, when high speed shakers and vibrators with soft sine-shaped oscillations are no longer effective. Better than a hammer The effect of the knocker is comparable to the infamous "silo hammer", but without the damage a hammer can do. Dents by hammers wil complicate the material flow even more. And cracks and ruptures can also occur. The effectiveness of the knocker is evaluated according to the following rule: If the product can be knocked off or made to flow with a hand hammer, the Pneumatic Knocker is also effective. The functional principle of the PMT spiral jet mill is as simple as elegant. The material is fed pneumatically to the mill and runs spirally through the milling chamber. Grinding media enters the area through the milling nozzles. Grinding media is either compressed air (3.5 to 15 bar and 240°C) or superheated steam (up to 24 bar and 400°C). The air stream fluidizes the material-bed and lifts as much particles as possible into the stream. Comminution is mainly based on shearing forces which result from velocity differences. The integrated dynamic classifier is capable to run at a maximum circumferential speed of 190 m/s. As soon as the particles reach a certain finess, they can pass the classifier to the final product. The fineness can be easily adjusted by variation of the classifier speed.
