Two combined portal scraper-reclaimers via Enersul to Astrakhangazprom At Astrakhangazprom, a daughter company of worldwide largest Russian natural gas producer Gazprom, SCHADE Lagertechnik GmbH (Herne) recently commissioned two combined portal scraper reclaimers for stacking and reclaiming sulphur prills at two stockyards with a capacity of 2 times 150,000 tons. With a rail track of 65m each, the combined stacker/portal scraper reclaimers are two of the largest machines which SCHADE ever supplied to a customer in the petrochemical industry. The two machines with a stacking capacity of 300 t/h and a reclaiming capacity of 600 t/h ensure the smooth material handling on both stockyards. The stackers take over the sulphur prills produced from the natural gas and stack them on the corresponding pile. The reclaimer is used to load rail wagons with the fertilizer. Normally, a bulk material stockyard is operated in such a way that simultaneous stacking and reclaiming is possible. Usually, this involves two separate machines such as a belt stacker

The new air jet sieve AS 200 jet is particularly suitable for low density materials with particle sizes in the lower micron range. It is used with 203 mm (8’’) sieves of 10 microns mesh size or more. An industrial vacuum cleaner generates a jet of air which disperses the particles on the sieve through a slotted nozzle. The material which passes the sieve is transported to the vacuum cleaner or to a cyclone for recovery. The procedure is very gentle on the material, the average sieving time only takes 2-3 minutes. A team of researchers at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in South Africa has taken delivery of an FT4 powder tester from Freeman Technology. The system is being used in work that involves understanding and controlling the behaviour of powders used in the production of metal components. Installation of the FT4, complete with a two-day, on-site training program conducted by a specialist from the Freeman team, took place in May. CSIR is one of Africa’s leading research establishments.
