KREATE goes for Draiswerke DCP Bead-mills KREATE is one of the fastest growing producers of pigment pastes for colour dispensers in Europe. For their newest production plant based in Belgium KREATE turned to Draiswerke for all of their production requirements. The first phase of the factory saw deployment of a Drais vacuum-dissolver plus two vertical bead-mills. KREATE formulates and produces pigment pastes for popular in-shop paint dispensing systems and needs to stay ahead of the lastest technological developments. KREATE therefore wanted the DCP Megaflow 12 lab/pilot-plant mill for development work on new pastes. However, this high-performance mill is no slouch in the pilot plant role either! Production volume is taken care of by the Draiswerke ACS-100 Megaflow mill with 8,5 litre high energy density milling chamber. Airconveyors International B.V. nearly finished their air supported conveying system as part of a ship loading installation at Nutreco’s business unit Skretting A/S Averøy in Norway which is the global number one producer of marine fish feed ! Their delivery consists of two parallel Airconveyors® type LB650 with a length of 65 meter each, including of a open steel structure (belt bridge) with a walkway down the middle. The conveyors are going to carry the end product (fish feed) from the factory crossing the existing warehouse overhead into the new quay building to load the ships. Each conveyor designed to supply 100 tonnes per hour. (equivalent to 160 m³/h). This environmental friendly air supported conveyor system runs with minimal friction and wear and is therefore very reliable, low in energy consumption and requires hardly any maintenance!

Kemutec Powder Technologies announces the installation of a high specification package for GSK. GSK had several requirements for the package to fulfil, central of which was to accommodate a multi-product process train. This was achieved by designing in quick change operating parameters, equipment speeds, type of grinding media and sieve and screen type. The package consists of two RB100 screw feeders, which lead into two KEK Under-Driven Cone Mills. These in turn feed into two KEK Centrifugal Sifters. Mobile and sliding support mechanisms were developed to allow a milling or sieving operation to be added or removed from the process quickly and easily. The sifters are mounted on moveable structures, as GSK required them to be interchangeable with two existing flat-deck machines. Busch has launched a completely revamped new generation of rotary vane vacuum pumps in the R 5 series. Three pump sizes with a suction capacity of 10, 16 or 21 cubic metres per hour produce an ultimate pressure of 0.5, 1 or 20 hPa (mbar), depending on the version. All sizes and versions offer stable performance characteristics, i.e. a high suction capacity is guaranteed even in the working pressure range. Thanks to their extremely compact design, these vacuum pumps are suitable for an installation in very confined spaces. A standard non-return valve in the suction pipe prevents ventilation of the recipient if the vacuum pump is turned off. In the industries that use compressed air, the awareness is growing that flow measurements are key to large energy savings. In some cases however, measuring the compressed air demand is not as straightforward as it seems. In ring networks, the flow direction depends on the actual air consumption of each division and is therefore unpredictable. Also, measuring near air buffers is tricky, because without a non-return valve, the buffer can also deliver air back to the network. For setting up safety systems compliant with the explosion protection requirements The PROTEXT SRB 101-Ex (one safety release) and SRB 200 (two safety release) series are suitable for use in Ex zones. There are variants with monitored reset function (trailing edge) as well as with automatic or manual reset function. All these versions have a stop 0 safety release and optionally can be supplied with cross-wire short detection. The four new safety relay modules can be used in intrinsically safe circuits in combination with, amongst others, reset buttons, emergency stop control devices, interlocking devices and safety magnet switches to the ATEX-Directive 94/9/CE. Due to the explosion category “n” to EN 60079-15, they can be used in IP 54 control cabinets in Ex zone 2 (gas).

Monitoring system for bucket elevators and conveyors The latest NTC Watchdog Elite now incorporates continuous bearing temperature monitoring as well as fixed trip point monitoring. The system uses solid state NTC sensors or PTC sensors, allowing the user to set a temperature trip point and to monitor actual bearing temperatures in real time.
