KREATE goes for Draiswerke DCP Bead-mills KREATE is one of the fastest growing producers of pigment pastes for colour dispensers in Europe. For their newest production plant based in Belgium KREATE turned to Draiswerke for all of their production requirements. The first phase of the factory saw deployment of a Drais vacuum-dissolver plus two vertical bead-mills. KREATE formulates and produces pigment pastes for popular in-shop paint dispensing systems and needs to stay ahead of the lastest technological developments. KREATE therefore wanted the DCP Megaflow 12 lab/pilot-plant mill for development work on new pastes. However, this high-performance mill is no slouch in the pilot plant role either! Production volume is taken care of by the Draiswerke ACS-100 Megaflow mill with 8,5 litre high energy density milling chamber. This mill features a dynamic separation sieve which allows the use of very fine grinding media and an advanced rotor cooling system to keep product temps well below the critical treshold. Airconveyors International B.V. nearly finished their air supported conveying system as part of a ship loading installation at Nutreco’s business unit Skretting A/S Averøy in Norway which is the global number one producer of marine fish feed ! Their delivery consists of two parallel Airconveyors® type LB650 with a length of 65 meter each, including of a open steel structure (belt bridge) with a walkway down the middle. The conveyors are going to carry the end product (fish feed) from the factory crossing the existing warehouse overhead into the new quay building to load the ships. Each conveyor designed to supply 100 tonnes per hour. (equivalent to 160 m³/h). This environmental friendly air supported conveyor system runs with minimal friction and wear and is therefore very reliable, low in energy consumption and requires hardly any maintenance!

New RETSCH Sieve Shaker AS 450 for sieve loads up to 20 kg With the analytical sieve shaker AS 450 RETSCH have designed their first siever for 400 mm and 450 mm sieves which operates with a three-dimensional sieving motion. It can be used for dry and wet sieving. The optimized electromagnetic drive allows for an amplitude up to 2.2 mm which renders the separation process much more effective than with other sieve shakers of this type. Reproducibility plays an important role: The amplitude - which is independent of the sieve load - is continually adjusted. On Wednesday 14.January 2009 one of the world largest PET bottle recycling plant for food grade flakes has been opened at Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA. The operation is a joint venture of URRC and Coca Cola named NURRC and will process 50.000 tons / year (output) of PET bottles at its final stage. This plant is not only a significant environmental benefit but with 100 newly created jobs also an advantage for the local community. NURRC uses the latest state of the art technology in processing post consumer PET bottles into food grade flakes. The selected equipment supplier for the size reduction part is Herbold Meckesheim GmbH from Germany with a total of 6 units of its new series of forced feeding granulators. Kemutec Powder Technologies announces the installation of a high specification package for GSK. GSK had several requirements for the package to fulfil, central of which was to accommodate a multi-product process train. This was achieved by designing in quick change operating parameters, equipment speeds, type of grinding media and sieve and screen type. The package consists of two RB100 screw feeders, which lead into two KEK Under-Driven Cone Mills. These in turn feed into two KEK Centrifugal Sifters. Mobile and sliding support mechanisms were developed to allow a milling or sieving operation to be added or removed from the process quickly and easily. The sifters are mounted on moveable structures, as GSK required them to be interchangeable with two existing flat-deck machines. The influences of geometry of the silo are, the silo diameter, height, angle of the hopper, pressure in the silo and wall friction.
