Automatic Feeding of Kieselgur from Sacks into Dissolving Tanks Handling bags of kieselgur is a constant daily challenge for breweries. We provide a unified solution to automate this process. This comprises an automatic bag emptying machine to automatically open and empty the bags, with integral compacting of the emptied bags, a pneumatic conveyor to carry the Kieselgur into the dissolving tanks, and an extraction and filtering unit for the pneumatic conveyor and dust extraction for the dissolving tanks. Plant is available for this process with different performance ratings, mainly in the range of up to 120 bags per hour and up to 250 bags per hour. The bags has to be put only on a conveyor belt. This then transports the bags into the automatic bag emptying machine, and separates the packing material from the kieselgur. The packing material passes through a chute into an empty bag compactor where it is stuffed into a tubular film. In May 2008 RHEWUM received an order for screens for the MA´ADEN fully integrated phosphate fertilizer production operation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which will be the world´s largest of this kind. In May 2008 RHEWUM received an order for Lump Screens for the MA´ADEN fully integrated phosphate fertilizer production operation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which will be the world´s largest of this kind. The screens will be part of the 4.5 million t/a phosphate rock beneficiation plant at the Al-Jalamid phosphate complex in the north of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The order has been placed by the EPC contractor Litwin Europe Middle East, a part of the Bateman Litwin N.V. Group. The order covers three screening machines Type WAU 195x269/1 and three feeders Type AV 1950, each screen for a capacity of 400 t/h – which means a capacity of nearly 10.000 tons per day! Delivery of the screens is foreseen for November and December 2008.

Quick exchange of chain guides The problem is well-known: A chain causes wear on the plastic guide. Even if the wear is extremely low for Murtfeldt materials, the guides have to be exchanged from time to time. When using one-piece cage profiles, like Murtfeldt type K or CKG, the chain has to be separated and removed from the profile. Due to this problem, Murtfeldt, the Dortmund-based specialist in the the manufacturing and processing of semi-finished plastic products, has developed two new part guide rails for the roller chain sizes 16B-1 (1” x 17 mm) and 20B-1 (1 ¼ x ¾”). With them the assembly is very easy. The advantage of these new products: In future, there will be no need to remove the chain from the profile when overhauling the guides. The exchange of the chain guide is done in a quick, clean and chain protecting manner. To remove ferrous contaminants Puritan Magnetics’ Suspended Belt Magnets are designed for suspension above a belt conveyor and are engineered to remove ferrous contaminants from high volume deep burdens. As product passes under the magnet, metal contaminants are drawn out of the material to the face of the magnet. This style of magnet should be installed at the discharge of the head pulley if possible. Material will be flowing more freely and can be thrown into the face of the magnet increasing the separation results over an installation that has the magnet suspended over a troughed belt. This can be supplied with a wiper arm or stripper plate to simplify cleaning. Spark extinguishing systems have been an integral part of security concepts of preventive fire and explosion protection in the various industrial processes. RETSCH presents new mills and sieve shakers Retsch, the experts in milling and particle characterization, present new product innovations at this year’s POWTECH.
