SAFEMAG pipe magnet for applications in the plastics industry At the K 2007 plastics trade fair, hall 10, stand E60, S+S will launch a new member of the magnet family, the SAFEMAG. The SAFEMAG system has been developed in close cooperation with customers from the plastics industry. The requirement is for an especially narrow but sturdy design that takes into consideration the limited available space in the direct vicinity of processing machines. With a mounting height of only 60 mm, SAFEMAG is the slimmest pipe magnet available on the market today. The compact alublock design allows the installation of conveyor, mixing, and dosing units directly over the magnet. The SAFEMAG magnet system can be used as a stand-alone system for the preseparation of ferromagnetic particles, or as an efficient add-on for the PROTECTOR metal separator where high levels of ferrous contamination are present. Automatic Feeding of Kieselgur from bags into Dissolving Tanks Handling bags filled with kieselgur is a constant daily challenge for breweries. Manually opening bags, emptying them and feeding kieselgur into the dissolving tanks is very time-consuming, and generates considerable dust and product wastage. We provide a unified solution to automate this process. This comprises an automatic bag emptying machine to automatically open and empty the bags, with integral compacting of the emptied bags, a pneumatic conveyor to carry the Kieselgur into the dissolving tanks, and an extraction and filtering unit for the pneumatic conveyor and dust extraction for the dissolving tanks. scale inhibitor for chilled rolls One of our customers produces a chemical product which is scraped off the chilled roller as a very fine powder, every revolution of the roll which contains about 8.000 liters of water. At certaine spots, however, they were getting flakes as inside the roll apparently scale had been built up. By starting to use BIO SURE®SG since early 2006 the scale came loose and could be filtered out so that the production process and product quality were improved. Also, there was quite some rust that came out. BIO SURE®SG is also used in heat exchangers, cooling systems of plastic injection moulding and extrusion machines, air conditioning systems, cooling towers, etc.
