HAVER CPA - Dynamic Image Analysis - high resolution; - new software
HAVER CPA - Dynamic Image Analysis
- high resolution; - new software HAVER & BOECKER, Germany, and W.S. Tyler, USA, one of the pioneers in dynamic image analysis for particle analysis, presents an updated Real Time photo optical particle analyzer with a 24 Mega pixel matrix equivalent camera resolution. In combination with the Real Time mode 100% of all particles are measured, whereby all statistical failures of particles not measured are eliminated. The high resolution dynamic image analyzer is based on one high resolution full digital camera system which guarantees results without any resolution gaps when stepping between different camera resolutions. Every single particle in the range from 25 micron up to 200 mm will be detected by the units. Up to 40 million pixels per second are calculated. The calculation of the length, width and circumference is not limited to an angle. All calculations are pixel to pixel up to 20000 particles per second in the Real Time mode. All images could be collected in TIF files for future recalculations,

Certification and Calibration of Test Sieves Quality Assurance
Certification and Calibration of Test Sieves
Quality Assurance • Certification according to ISO 3310, ASTM E 11, AFNOR, BS 410. • Inspection Certificate 3.1 according to EN 10 204 with statistical results of aperture widths. • "Local Service" - Direct On-Site. Minimise your production downtime. We can inspect and check your test sieves at your own premises using our mobile HAVER Measuring Facility. HAVER & BOECKER offers two reliability levels: Certification or Calibration. Both methods measure the wire cloth in warp and weft direction. They differ in the number of the measured aperture sizes, offering a different statistical reliability. The number of measured aperture sizes for a calibration is three times higher than for a certification. In general the test sieve is subject to a specific test. The measured aperture sizes are documented separately for warp and weft direction. Measuring results are saved and available for further measuring checks.

Mastersizer 2000 proves its value in powder safety testing
Mastersizer 2000 proves its value in powder safety testing
A Malvern Mastersizer 2000 particle size analyzer is being used in two unique applications for powder explosion and powder handling safety studies being conducted by leading industrial process safety specialist Chilworth Technology. Particle size is one of a range of properties examined by Chilworth when determining the flammability of materials, and is also a critical parameter in toxicological safety testing of powders. Particle size has a huge effect on a powder’s sensitivity to ignition, and on subsequent explosion severity. Finer powders tend to have lower minimum ignition energies and temperatures; they also exhibit stronger explosion severity. The Mastersizer 2000 permits rapid, accurate particle size analysis of materials either as solids or in liquid suspension. The system overcomes the drawbacks of traditional mechanical sieve analysis, which often fails because of sieve blinding or agglomeration of the powder, aside from the risks of shaking toxic active

GMF-Gouda en NIZO food research organize seminar
`One small step for us, one giant leap for your product development` On January 25th, 2007, GMF-Gouda will organize the seminar “One small step for us, one giant leap for your product development” in cooperation with NIZO food research. The reasons for organizing this event are: · The cooperation between GMF-Gouda and NIZO food research: The food grade pilot plant of NIZO in Ede, the Netherlands, has been expanded with a GMF-Gouda drum dryer processing line. The complete line, comprising both a single and a double drum dryer, mixing tanks, a scraped-surface heat exchanger, a jet cooker and a mill sifter, has been installed and tested and is readily available for use by our customers. · The introduction by GMF-Gouda of a new design drum dryer The seminar will take place at NIZO in Ede, located in the so called “Dutch Food Valley”. The official invitation and program is attached. For more information please call Mrs. M. Martinot.

IFPAC 2007 - Malvern presents novel strategies for chemometrics in chemical
Malvern Instruments’ activities at IFPAC®2007, the 21st International Forum for Process Analytical Technology (January 28-31, 2007; Baltimore MD, USA), will include the presentation of two key papers and participation in the trade exhibition. Malvern recently added powerful NIR (near infrared) chemical imaging systems to its portfolio and presentations at IFPAC will be made by Dr E. Neil Lewis, the company’s VP Business and Product Development for Analytical Imaging, and Dr. Frederick Koehler, Software Scientist. This year’s IFPAC covers many topics; chemometrics feature strongly throughout, and the program includes a chemometrics for PAT course. Dr Koehler’s presentation is part of the session on Chemical Imaging: Data analysis and emerging techniques, in which he will examine novel strategies for chemometrics in near-IR imaging data. Dr Lewis’s paper is within the Pharmaceutical Imaging session and will cover the applications of near infrared

Inline Particle Measurement in explosive Environments
Inline Particle Measurement in explosive Environments
At Powtech 2007 Parsum shows first time its new In-line Particle Probe IPP 70-Se for use in potentially explosive environments. Within ATEX this probe is classified as an intrinsically safe instrument suitable for use in zones 0, 1 and 2, 20, 21 and 22. The IPP 70-Se is an optical rod probe with no moving elements and the same mechanical dimensions like the standard version. A special 100 m cable allows installing the electronics and measurement PC outside ATEX classified areas. The probe measures particle size by detecting interruptions of a laser beam caused by material passing through it. It is insensitive to vibration and slight impacts. Once installed, usually in pipelines, falling zones, vessels or directly in fluidized beds, it requires no manual adjustment. An integral pressurized air feed ensures that the optical sapphire windows are protected from product build-up – a particularly important feature for potentially fouling applications. It is suitable for

The MS Screener from Rotex sold and installed in Europe
The MS Screener from Rotex sold and installed in Europe
Rotex Europe has the pleasure to announce the installation of the first MS Screener in Europe. Sold and installed in The Netherlands to a very important company (which prefers to keep its anonymity) in the Agro Processing field, the MS Screener is the perfect solution to all screening requirements at high temperatures and large volumes. The MS Screener provides unsurpassed screening performance when exact separations and high efficiencies are required, and maximizes product recoveries at material temperatures up to 200º C. Specifically designed to screen fine products at high capacity, the MS Screener provides excellent screening performance due to equal feed distribution to all screen decks, uniform bed-depth across the entire screen surface and a reduction in screen blinding, due to the use of durable declogging balls. The stacked, multiple-deck, tray access design allows for individual screen access without the need to remove all decks. A patented Lift-Rail
