Dinnissen presents new mixing technique during Industrial Processing in Utrecht At Industrial Processing in Utrecht, Dinnissen will present the latest Pegasus® Mixer, which can rapidly, homogenously and carefully mix no less than 15 liquids with powders, grains and granules. The mixer is quick and easy to clean and is suitable for mixing a wide range of products according to high quality standards and with continuously changing compositions. Analysis of flow characteristics of solids and powders
Delft Solids Solutions has expanded its primary characterisation activities in the field of solids characterization. Delft Solids Solutions is now capable of determining an additional set of variables responsible for flow and mobility characteristics of powders. Parameters such as compressibility, cohesion, aerated and tapped bulk density, angles of spatula and fall can be quantitatively determined and correlated with the particle behaviour. In turn these results can be correlated with primary variables such as true density, particle size, surface area and porosity. This information should lead to a better understanding of the flow and storage behaviour and quality of powders and is relevant for manufacturers, suppliers and users of bulk solids.

Application: ACO moisture measuring instruments for bulk solids (granulates) Properties: Defined dumping height for ideal on-line moisture measurement The ACO sensor is integrated in the ”cup” of PN1 Long-lasting, pneumatic rotary drive Automatic cleaning of the sensor surface Optional: turnkey control cabinet for triggering sampler Versions: PN1 is available for all sensors of the ACO sensor family If required, the sampler can be manufactured as well integrated in e.g. a part of a drop shaft. The PN1 Sampler has to be mounted in a free fall situation, e.g. in a drop shaft. A part of the falling down bulk good is trapped in the cup. The bottom of this cup consists of the measuring surface of the ACO moisture measuring sensor. After enough material has been trapped, the residual moisture can be determined and finally that cup will be dumped. For cleaning the sensor an air nozzle has been integrated. Digital image processing as it is used in the CAMSIZER® by Retsch Technology is one of the most accurate methods to determine the particle size distribution of flowable bulk goods. It has become a well established method in addition to sieve analysis and laser diffraction in the size range of 30 µm to 30 mm and exceeds their capabilities with regards to precision, reproducibility and obtained information by far. With the CAMSIZER, the sample is fed in from a feed channel so that all particles fall through the measurement field. During the measurement procedure two digital cameras (CCD) perform different tasks. The Basic Camera (CCD-B) detects large particles whereas the Zoom Camera (CCD-Z) records the small ones. The contact-free optical measurement is carried out in real time and simultaneously obtains all the required information about the particle size. Puritan’s Vertical Spout Magnets are ideally suited for products that would bridge or choke in a magnetic tube type separator. Ferrous contaminants are easily removed from products that are moist, lumpy, granular, or in powder form. Powerful opposing magnets mounted to outside of the housing draw tramp metal out of the product stream. A center diverter on the housing inlet helps direct product towards the magnets. A Single Trap face design eliminates the possibility of the captured tramp metal being washed off back into the product stream. Cleaning this magnetic separator is achieved by releasing the drawer latches and removing the internal drawer assembly. VDL TIM Hapert opens new building
Following a period of renovations lasting nearly two years, the new VDL TIM Hapert building will be opened officially on Friday 5 September. An open day will be held the following day, on Saturday 6 September. During the past several years, VDL TIM Hapert has undergone extensive growth. The company has plenty of work, but the production area could no longer accommodate the need for new machines. Previously, the warehouse was at a different location, which was not ideal from a logistical standpoint. The offices were also 20 years old and no longer made the desired impression. VDL began the renovations in November 2006. Since then, a neighbouring building was purchased (previously Mibra) and converted to a new 6,500 m2 warehouse. The separate production hall that was located behind the production area at VDL TIM Hapert has also been renovated and connected to the existing production hall. Fill off liquids - but do it safely The foot operated pump for solvents was specially designed for the filling off high-purity liquids. Therefore all parts coming into contact with the media are made from stainless steel and PTFE. The barrel screw joint and stopcock provide a hermetic seal between the container and the pump so that unwanted vapors cannot escape during the filling process.
