The Russell Finex Separator proves efficient and cost-effective for industrial tools and minerals company Diaber, a Belgian company specializing in industrial tools and minerals, has optimized its glass recycling process with the help of the Russell Finex Separator. Diaber uses Reglass Glasgrit, a product made from recycled materials, as a media in its sandblasting machines. To ensure optimal performance, the glass grit must have a defined particle size range without oversized or undersized grains. Previously, Diaber relied on sieves and separators to remove unwanted particle sizes. If dispersion is necessary to be able to measure the primary particles, wet dispersion is the ideal form for most samples. Preliminary tests must be carried out to check in which way the sample material can be wetted and dispersed. The liquid should wet the solid as spontaneously and completely as possible. One of the key requirements was to avoid demixing during the process. The correct selection and design of the pneumatic conveying system was essential to achieve this. Water filter cartridges consist among others out of ion exchanger and activated carbon particles. To deliver the final mixed product to the filling lines of the filter cartridges several process steps must be passed. The system consisted out of several Big Bag unloading stations for the raw materials, vacuum conveying systems to the gravimetric feeders, a continuous mixer and a dense phase pneumatic conveyor for the mixed product.
