Product Range for Materials Handling enhanced When a valve which is used to shut off the discharge volume of a medium with challenging flow characteristics is operated infrequently, a bridging effect often results. This initially tends to occur between valve disc and liner, but often progresses so far that the material flow is blocked through to the silo. The valve disc and liner are then exposed to disproportionately high frictional forces when the valve opens. Time-consuming countermeasures can be avoided in advance in many cases by using a ViDos valve: a vibrator mounted on the lower shaft causes a light linear vibration of the valve disc. The frequency of the vibration is controlled via the air pressure. The vibrations keep the medium in motion and effectively reduce bridging. Substances that are already compressed or have adhered to the disc are loosened and detached. The goal was the efficient and reliable processing of urea with a capacity of 10t/h and the following requirements: - Continuous opening of Big Bags - Providing a product template for a possible transition from batch to continuous operation - Product dispersion - Destruction of agglomerates - Continuous dosing - Dissolution of the solids in a suspension Implementation: A stable receiving frame receives the Big Bags filled with free-flowing, slightly lumpy raw material. Using a piercing pyramid, the Big Bags are efficiently pierced by their own weight. The directly connected material buffer with dispersing agitator and vibration discharge aid ensures a smooth friction-free feed of the material into the lump breaker. Complete PET pelletizing plant - largest ever built Maag Automatik (a Dover Corporation Member) is proud to announce that M&G Finanziaria (Italy) has chosen the German manufacturer to supply the equipment needed for a complete PET pelletizing plant. Not only will Automatik deliver a number of its production proven underwater SPHERO® pelletizing systems but also corresponding melt pumps, screen changers and the company`s highly innovative direct crystallization CC-PET® process. Located in Corpus Christi, Texas, the new operation is designed for a capacity of 1 million tons per year and as a consequence will be the largest PET production site ever built.
