Two years ago J-Tec opened its Asian headquarter in Bangkok, Thailand, and the investment is paying off. An exquisite example proving our success in Asia is a recent project we’ve realized for a well-known producer of cacao products. This client asked us to engineer and build a complete blending line in a production facility in Samutprakan, Thailand, near to Bangkok. J-Tec provided an innovative solution for their process challenges and got the project. The blending line mainly consists out of 4 different levels. On the upper level several receiving hoppers (on weighing cells, with integrated filters) are fed by different pneumatic conveying lines. •We’ve connected the first line to an existing dosing premix installation for the transportation of one specific premix. “Measure twice – cut once” is a famous proverb describing the value of correct measurement. On its own, measuring is just a start; the values must be available and remain available. The first requirement is achieved by the display on the instrument. For the second requirement, PENKO has now enhanced its instruments with an internal memory which should store the weight information of the past 7 years for any typical production usage. When fully loaded a FIFO (first in, first out) procedure applies in batches of approximately 6% of the contents. The individual weighing information contains at a minimum the time, date, weight and identification. Depending on the application, additional information, up to an entire e-mark protocol, is available as an option. The importance is that the memory resides inside the instrument and its contents can be recalled, printed or transmitted to a supervisory system. Inline measurement of residual oil content in compressed air According to ISO 8573-5: 2010 all hydrocarbons with 6 or more carbon atoms per molecule in compressed air need to be measured. The RCS Oil monitor is capable of measuring the residual oil with a minimum detection limit of 0,001mg/Nm3. The RCS Oil monitor is easy to install and optionally it is possible to expand the measurement range to CO2, CO, O2 and other possibilities up to ISO 8573-1. Because residual oil is an important measurement for the end quality of your produced product it is therefore the ideal monitor to install and monitor your compressed air quality. Bladel, December 4, 2013 – KSE Process Technology launches special system for filling storage silos fully automatically. It uses containers, which results in low contamination transport. The ALFRA Silo Filling Unit (SFU) automatically fills a complete silo-deck using transport containers. The ALFRA SFU consists of a movable shuttle which moves both from left to right as from the back to the front in order to position above the right silo and to directly discharge into the right silo. Each container can transport up to 5,000 liters of raw materials or finished product. A Lid Lifter is one of the possibilities. Beltweighers are automatic devices, meant for the control, the regulation and totalising of continuous flows of bulk material. Frequently a part of the belt conveyor is weighed, giving the load per meter of the belt conveyor (m/l). A length measuring device establishes the displacement (l). Multiplying both values (l x m/l = m) gives the mass of the bulk material, transported over the weigher. Simultaneously the belt speed, the displacement per unit of time (l/t), is measured. This way the mass flow (m/l x l/t = m/t) can be calculated. During production the new instrument offers you a lot of information, such as the: 1. Total transported mass (m). 2. Mass flow (m/s). 3. Belt speed (l/t). 4. Load on the belt (m/l). Apart of presenting this information it is possible to switch off or control the supply of the belt conveyor. Zweibrücken, Germany (16 October 2013) – A new grinding system from Pallmann enables energy-efficient recycling of vulcanized rubber waste back into fine powder for direct reuse in rubber processing. A key feature of the Karakal is its ability to devulcanize the rubber as it pulverizes it, so that it can be used in place of virgin material. Karakal is a type of twin-roll mill that has been designed specifically for recycling waste from production of technical parts, as well as waste arising from retreading truck tyres. It accepts material that has been pre-cut to a particle size of 4 mm or less, and which is fed to it continuously by a series of screws positioned along the gap between the rollers. Pallmann has applied for several patents on technology incorporated into the equipment. “There is quite a lot of waste produced in the rubber processing sector, and we wanted to develop a cost-effective process that would enable it to be recycled back into production,”

according the Ploughshare priciple from Lödige GmbH Eskens Benelux BV introduces the Easy Clean Lödige mixer, as the name suggests, is easy to clean and especially as suitable where hygiene is important. The mixing principle is based on the well-known horizontal Lödige ploughshare mixer, however, the fixed drum has other dimensions and therefore the mixer is more narrow and higher. This allows to apply one large hatch at the front (inspection and cleaning) and one large hatch on the bottom (discharge of product) of the mixing drum. The mixer dissolves almost completely and is easily accessible for additional cleaning or inspection. In fact, the benefits of the horizontal and vertical principle are being combined. The mixer can be applied to batches of between 110 and 2000 liters (depending on the type), and is especially suitable for mixing dry materials and dry mixes.
