On the hunt for the correct torque
What lipstick, a fridge, a light switch, and vehicle instruments have in common Screw joint analysis ensures correct fastening torque parameters Almost everyone has used one – a lip balm stick that gives relief to cracked and dry lips. Twist the balm out of the practical rotating sleeve; apply balm onto the lips, done! What appears so easy can actually prove to be a brain-teaser for industrial production. What happens if problems arise in the assembly of the lip balm’s plastic components? What if waste is produced time and again in the screw assembly of the lip balm casing? The error analysis on site may take weeks, or even months. This is when a detailed screw joint analysis from the screwdriving specialists pays off. In his laboratory for screw joint analysis, application engineer Rudolf Schmidbauer is holding three plastic parts in his hands: the casing, the piston, and the spindle for the lip balm. During assembly, the piston is first inserted into the casing. It is actually the second step that leads to most problems. This is

InnoTrans 2010: drive stability that knows no boundaries Schenck Process presents a new force sensor shaped by interoperability
InnoTrans 2010: drive stability that knows no boundaries
Schenck Process presents a new force sensor shaped by interoperability The InnoTrans trade fair running from 21 to 24 September 2010 in Berlin is focusing on road- and rail-based measuring technology. Schenck Process specialists will be presenting their new MULTIRAIL® InterScan flat sleeper with Y/Q option. The major advantage of this new product is that Q and Y forces are localised when measuring the wheel loads passing over it. High loading in a Q or Y direction can thereby be recognised in good time, making needs-based maintenance possible and delivering major potential cost savings. The special MULTIRAIL® force sensor also ensures increased reliability. Excess axle loads, uneven distribution of loads or impermissible lateral forces can result in tilted vehicles and cause accidents or costly damage. In the worst case scenario, trains can even derail - but thanks to MULTIRAIL® InterScan, such events are consigned to history. MULTIRAIL® InterScan also calculates dynamic wheel forces, most of which are caused by wheel flats. This

Fighting leaves with special Masterflex hoses
Fighting leaves with special Masterflex hoses
Specially designed for the area of application of leaves and grass extraction, Masterflex AG offers a product group for applications in municipal areas in which microbe resistance is an absolute must. The different hose types in the area of microbe-resistant hoses convince with their excellent wear resistance as well as largely smooth inside walls. This reduces swirling of the sucked in material to a minimum which produces maximum suction performances with extreme wear resistance. The metal spiral is cast firmly in the wall of the hose by a special manufacturing method. The wire cannot scrape the wall and there is no deformation of the hose profile even at extreme bending radii. The ultra-light, highly flexible hoses enable user-friendly working. The reduction in weight in comparison with similar rubber hoses is more than 40 %. The different polyurethane hose types are available in all common sizes for all large and small sweeping machines and leaf vacuum

The latest shock pressure-proof weighfeeder - MULTIDOS® HPG
Proven technology + state-of-the-art design = the ultimate solution for feeding solid fuels For more than six decades, Schenck Process weighfeeders have been paradigms of reliability, precision and operational safety. While these long-established products have enjoyed a glorious history, their quality, functional, software and stability features have now been further refined. The Stock Equipment Company* has been part of the Schenck Process Group since 2006. This company has long been a leader in shock pressure-proof systems. The MULTIDOS® High Pressure Gravimetric (HPG) weighfeeder is the result of collaborative work between the two companies. It is a new generation of weighfeeders/coal conveyors resistant to 3.5 bar shock pressure, offering greater efficiency than ever before. The first choice for fuel feeding The gravimetric feeding technologies constructed by Schenck Process for coal feeding since the 1930s are considered highly reliable and as the standard for accurate raw coal weighing and feeding; something proven by the fact that more than

2 & 3 motors Single Phase Industrial Vac. New basic industrial vacs
2 & 3 motors Single Phase Industrial Vac.
New basic industrial vacs S2B&S3B are very simple 1ph industrial vacs, ideal for the metalworking industry where metal chips mixed with oil/coolant have to be removed from machine tools. The version FM is recommended for the collection of fine dust as in the B&C field. In such case a Hepa filter KIT can be added as OPTION S2B is fitted with 2 indipendent`by-pass` motors and available with a 50L bin. Mod. S3B has 3 indipendent `by-pass` motors and is available in 50 L or 100L bin. They are both made of metal plate. The manual filter shaker ensures a good efficiency of the filter and the release container system allows to empty the bin without disassembling the other parts of the vac.

Reliable S+S sorting systems convince the Swiss Superior technology of the VARISORT COMPACT combined system
Reliable S+S sorting systems convince the Swiss
Superior technology of the VARISORT COMPACT combined system RecyPET AG was established in 1998 and has operated Europe’s first bottle-to-bottle PET recycling plant in Fraunfeld, Switzerland, since September 2000. RecyPET’s goal is to close the material cycle for PET beverage bottles. The recyclate produced is used among other things for the production of new PET beverage bottles, food packing films, other films, etc. S+S Separation and Sorting Technology supplied a metal separator of the type PETMAG to RecyPET as long ago as 2001. In 2010 the PETMAG metal separator, which during its ten years of operation caused service and spare part costs of barely 2000 Euros, was replaced by a combined system of the latest generation, the VARISORT COMPACT. Colour and metal sensors are combined with one another in this device. The material to be examined is fed by means of specially adapted vibrating trough conveyors and unites the advantages of chutes and belt systems. This also makes it possible for the first time to remove rubber

Eskens Benelux presents Rhewum Reduction of CO2 Emissions: using Rhewum screens
Eskens Benelux presents Rhewum
Reduction of CO2 Emissions: using Rhewum screens Rhewum has been awarded the contract by Geldof N.V. to supply 3 screening machines for a leading Belgian energy supplier. The screening machines type WA 220x538/1 including corresponding distributing feeders have been installed at Electrabel’s site in Nijmegen, Netherlands. With a feed capacity of 120 m3/h (approx. 30 t/h) per each screen it has to be guaranteed that the crushed wood pellets will be separated from any oversize product. Such oversize grains would possibly lead to a clogging of the downstream processing units that blow the crushed wood pellets into conventional steam boilers. The partial replacement of coal dust through crushed wood pellets as a source of emission allows to shift Co2 emissions of conventional energy sources to renewable ones. This demanding screening application is realized by Rhewum WA screening machines with their highly efficient electro-magnetic drive system. The Rhewum electro-magnetic vibrating heads are the optimum solution

Murtfeldt expects positive signs for the market from Motek
Optimisation of the Original Material "S"® product family is key focus Murtfeldt Kunststoffe is showcasing its complete range of semi-finished technical and high-performance plastics at the Motek 2010 in Stuttgart in hall 1, stand 1327. Furthermore, using the example of screw manufacturing, the plastics manufacturer from Dortmund presents the versatile applications of the high-class plastics, which are individually processed into machined parts in accordance with customer drawings at Murtfeldt`s in-house production halls. Following the economic crisis in 2009, many customer investments and developments were postponed or completely discarded - innovations in which Murtfeldt had also collaborated - but now, however, all signs are clearly pointing to an upward trend once again at Murtfeldt. `From Motek 2010, we are hoping for a further revival and upturn for machine construction and therefore also for our business`, said the authorised representative and sales manager Andreas Balla, outlining the expectations of the Dortmund-based
