The microwave barrier VEGAMIP 61 is especially designed for the requirements and special needs of the bulk solids industry. Since the microwave barrier measures contactlessly, VEGAMIP has no direct contact with the medium. This is advantageous particularly for abrasive products or very high temperatures. In such cases VEGAMIP 61 can simply measure from the outside through a microwave-permeable window, for example, of ceramic or plastic. Also in the area of liquid level detection or object detection, the microwave barrier offers many advantages over other measuring principles. The microwave barrier consists of a VEGAMIP T61 transmitter and one or several VEGAMIP R61 receivers. The receiver measures the attenuation of the received microwave signal and generates a switching signal from it. VEGAMIP can be used as a maximum or minimum sensor. In this case there was a process of evaporating, in which the product in dependency of the inner pressure of the vessel has been brought to its boiling temperature. By applying of vacuum in the AVA-Dryer the product temperature is adjusted exactly according to the vapour pressure graph of the liquid component, which is to be vaporized. Through this an especially efficient and gentle drying is reached. The heat input is effected over the heated outer vessel wall, in which the heating medium is circulating. For rising of the drying capacity and to avoid caking the main shaft of the dryer as well as the whole helix can be heated over a rotary connection. It is used with 203 mm (8’’) sieves of 10 microns mesh size or more. An industrial vacuum cleaner generates a jet of air which disperses the particles on the sieve through a slotted nozzle. The material which passes the sieve is transported to the vacuum cleaner or to a cyclone for recovery. The procedure is very gentle on the material, the average sieving time only takes 2-3 minutes.
