Associates Company Ltd. organised a most successful seminar about level measurement in bulk solids. Primary responsibility held the R.J.C. management with Mr. Prasit Chatcharith and Mr. Agsorn Rachanis. Markus Schalk, international Sales Manager at UWT, gave his lecture in front of top-class decision makers and engineers from different branches of industry such as animal feed, cement, glass, synthetics, building materials, etc. The numerous representatives from a variety of branches learned everything about level limit measurement with Rotonivo 3000 and Vibranivo 2000 as well as about the continuous UWT level measurement systems like Nivobob and Nivowave. Rotating Pipe Powder Sampler Sampling is done with a single rotating movement of max. 120°. In a fixed guide tube rotates a high polished internal tube. During sampling the inlets of the two pipes lay on top of each other. The sample freely drops out by gravity. The whole way of discharge the powder keeps moving on nad the product will protected from mechanical stress and grounding. An additional advantage is that the sampler has large free cross-sections for discharge. The quantity of sample collected can be varied as a function of the speed of the rotating movement. The system can automated for representative proportional sampling for a long period of time. The process connections and the construction materials will designed according to customer wishes.

In order to get a convincing evaluation of the overall product, we recommend to capture the complete product stream and to take a representative cross cut. Our cross cut sampler for verticle gravity chutes is well suited for this type of sample taking. Increments of powder or lumps of solids are taken out and delivered by gravity to a sample bottle or fall into a chute. When activated a cutter pivots through the full product stream, sweeping 90° arc, collecting a true cross-section sample. The cutter inlet is shaped so that all particles from any part of the cross-section have the same probability of being sampled independent of speed of movement. The collected sample quantity can be varied in proportion to the speed of the movement. In order to take samples proportionally over a longer period of time the cross-cut sampler can also be fully automated.

Barely one year after the takeover of the Holcim subsidiary in Venezuela by the state, investments are made to ensure the proper functioning of the system in the South American plant: The responsible managers placed with AUMUND Fördertechnik GmbH the order for one heavy-duty apron feeder with arched plates (2000/150/25+25) of type BPB-S-K and for two spillage conveyors for the limestone transport. This order for AUMUND means the medium term replacement of a still operating apron feeder with arched plates by the new machine that will be designed for a conveying capacity of 1050 t/h. The heavy-duty apron feeders are preferably installed underneath tipping points and transport uncrushed raw materials. The preferred materials to be conveyed on this feeder are uncrushed limestone of more than 1,000mm edge length, gypsum and other raw materials extracted from quarries. Helical spiral mixers with a cylindrical mixing chamber have been around for about 30 years. This type of mixer is equipped with a centrally-mounted mixing shaft to which radial blade-like arms are mounted. These bear a helical spring that is adapted to the diameter of the mixing chamber. The mixture is screwed upwards at the perimeter and flows downwards in the centre of the mixing chamber. The market at that time demanded large mixers with lot sizes up to 12 m³, extremely short mixing times and a particularly gentle treatment of the mixture, especially in order to retain agglomerate structures that result, for example, from spray drying, without damage. In particular, it had to be possible to mix baby food with first-class solubility, good sinking behaviour and ideal dispersibility, ready to pack. Already in 2008, Intensiv-Filter received the complete contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of a bag filter of the type "ProJet mega®" for one of the largest cement plants in Northern Europe. Client was the Cementa AB, a subsidiary of HeidelbergCement. The plant is located in the city Slite on the Swedish island of Gotland. After only six months of construction, the new and within the HeidelbergCement Group largest bag filter for the dust removal from the rotary kiln line 8, was successfully put into operation in early November. The initial startup was carried out by the Chairman of the Board of HeidelbergCement. In addition to the filter - designed for a volume flow of approximately 1.2 million m³/h - Intensiv-Filter was responsible for the pipes, the dust transport system, fan, steel works and the entire assembly. Traditionally, the province Groningen has always been an area of grain cultivation. The cooperation Agrifirm receives, stores, dries and cleans the grain for her members. This happens in different establishments among which is Delfzijl. Over the years the capacity of the drier became insufficient. We supplied two new driers with strainers with a capacity of 25 tons/hour, a couple of chain conveyors and readjusted the existing installation. Long before the harvesting of the grain everything was installed and fully functional. Although the nice summer made sure the new equipment hasn’t seen a lot of action yet.

Following the acquisition of Netherlands-based Penko Engineering by the global American company Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC) in 2004, ETC`s unfailing commitment to developing the Penko weighing and dosing instrumentation and measurement business, continues at full speed - even during a recession. The new two-storey building includes 3370m2 of factory space and 1280m2 of office space, surrounded by parkland in Ede, just 5 km from original home of Penko, which for the last 30 years has been in Veenendaal, central Holland. The new building represents an investment of more than 5 million Euro by the American parent company. Penko`s General Manager, Pekka Sundstedt explained, `When we started the process of looking for larger premises, some factory buildings we saw locally were either too small or did not have the facilities we needed to improve production efficiency, material handling and were therefore unable to meet our need to improve logistics and efficiency.
