Cementa AB celebrates commissioning

Already in 2008, Intensiv-Filter received the complete contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of a bag filter of the type "ProJet mega®" for one of the largest cement plants in Northern Europe. Client was the Cementa AB, a subsidiary of HeidelbergCement. The plant is located in the city Slite on the Swedish island of Gotland.

After only six months of construction, the new and within the HeidelbergCement Group largest bag filter for the dust removal from the rotary kiln line 8, was successfully put into operation in early November. The initial startup was carried out by the Chairman of the Board of HeidelbergCement. In addition to the filter - designed for a volume flow of approximately 1.2 million m³/h - Intensiv-Filter was responsible for the pipes, the dust transport system, fan, steel works and the entire assembly.

The pre-assembled steel components and ducts were transported by authorized and escorted heavy and specialized transport by land and sea from Germany to Sweden. With dimensions of 4.50 m in diameter the supply was not common. Altogether, more than 160 tonnes of steel and about 80 tonnes of ducts with a diameter 3.00 m and 4.50 m were assembled.
