Robust, insulating and patented for high temperatures NORRES, the Gelsenkirchen based hose manufacturer, has just extended its range of clamp profile hoses with two new, highly flexible high-temperature products. The CP HiTex 485 and CP HiTex 486 are not only extremely flexible, they are also compressible, multi-layered, robust and suitable for slight overpressure. The CP HiTex 485 can be used at up to +500°C while the CP HiTex 486 withstands up to +650°C. The multi-layer wall of both hoses has an interior and exterior lining made of special coated glass fabric in a patented CP design for unrivalled security and durability. There are times when even a suction and blast hose starts to feel the heat. This is where the two new high-temperature hoses from NORRES come into play – thanks to its multi-layer hose wall, the CP HiTex 485 withstands temperatures up to +500°C as well as peaks up to +550°C. Low segregation, low wear, low air and low energy consumption Our dense phase conveying systems with pressure vessels are designed for processes that require gentle conveying, low segregation, low wear, low air and energy consumption. Another advantage when using a dense phase conveying system with pressure vessels rather than a lean phase conveying systems with rotary valves is that no part rotates in the product stream. In lean phase conveying systems, the rotating rotary valve will cause fine metallic attrition when coming in contact with the housing and thereby contaminate the product. Another disadvantage is air leakage. This occurs because of the gap between the rotor and the housing. Due to wear on the rotary valves, the gap gets bigger which leads to increased leakage of air, reduced capacity, to conveying problems and pipe blockages. The new PM 100 CM allows for gentle size reduction with less temperature rise The new Planetary Ball Mill PM 100 CM offers all the performance and convenience of the classic PM 100. It pulverizes and mixes soft, medium-hard to extremely hard, brittle and fibrous materials and is used wherever the highest degree of fineness down to the submicron range is required. It is suitable for dry and wet grinding. In contrast to the PM 100 the speed ratio of sun wheel to grinding jar is 1:-1, i.e. the mill operates in centrifugal mode. This results in a different ball movement so that the sample is not so much crushed by impact effects but more gently ground by pressure and friction which allows for a lower temperature rise in the grinding jar and less abrasion. An US based leading company in pharmaceutical industry with 72.000 employees in 130 countries worldwide has decided to buy an AVA-Pharma-Mixer for its site in South America. They have already produced aids drugs in Italy on AVA-Dryers for many years. The final product in South America is now an aids drug too. But in this case, the AVA mixer is more used as a storage vessel between the centrifuge and the fluidised bed drying. This means concretely that several batches of the centrifuge are bunkered and slowely moved through the helix within the mixer, in order to avoid the forming of agglomerates. As soon as the final batch size is measured by the load cells, the complete batch is discharged in the fluidized bed dryer.

A new separation unit for contaminated bulk material S+S Separation and Sorting Technology GmbH presents a new metal separation unit called Presep. The unit can be installed on conveyors to analyse plastic granulate or as a stand-alone unit to analyse grinding stock, regenerate or rejected material. The advantage of the S+S separation unit Presep is its combination of a magnetic and a metal separator and its material proportioning. The usage of highly contaminated plastic granulate is a serious problem in the plastics industry. With its state of the art Super-Sens, the company provides the worldwide most sensitive radiometric detector for measuring point level, continuous level and density, setting new standards in source limitations. Compared to common detectors, the source activity can be reduced by 70-95% when using the Super-Sens detector. As an example the density measurement on a dredging application can be taken, where a source activity of 185 GBq was required in the past to solve the measurement task.
