Insight into characterisation of powders and a overview of methods for determining bulk behaviour of particulate materials. 25 - 26 January; 14:00 - 17:00 hrs UK time; online learning. This short online course provides an overview of methods for determining bulk behaviour of particulate materials. The range of measurement techniques covered by the presenters will introduce relevance to real-world industrial scenarios and describe how the particular technique works and where it would be most useful. You will learn about a chosen selection of the following topics: Topics * Particle size measurement techniques * Particle Density (solid and bulk) * Flow property measurements * Moisture uptake * Propensity for Segregation/de-blending * Degradation/friability of bulk through handling systems * Caking/agglomeration of bulk materials in storage * Explosability * Pneumatic conveying properties * Dustiness testing New for 2022 - we are offering delegates the opportunity to take part in a practical workshop to see demonstrations of equipment discussed during the course. This takes

The Power of the Probe: Dynamic Light Scattering Made Easy
Rapid, simple and reliable particle size measurements in suspensions and emulsions without using consumables - that is possible with the unique probe technology used in the analyzers of the Nanotrac series. The compact units Nanotrac FLEX and Nanotrac WAVE II operate with the Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) method over a wide concentration range, usually without dilution, to measure particle size, zeta potential, concentration and molecular weight. Thanks to the unique, flexible probe design and the use of laser-amplified detection in the Nanotrac FLEX, any suitable vessel can be turned into a sample cell. For Nanotrac WAVE II, a wide selection of measurement cells is available. This design enables sample measurements without dilution and without prior knowledge about the particle distribution, based on the Frequency Power Spectrum (FPS) method instead of classic Photon Correlation Spectroscopy (PCS). The revolutionary fixed optic design of the Nanotrac FLEX probe allows for measurement, for example, in 1.5 ml Eppendorf Tubes® down to one single droplet. As any vessel can be turned into a measurement vessel, the probe can be used at-line as well as in-line to monitor

PICTOS | TWISTER & Co.
on-line Image Analysis | Particle size and particle shape from below 1 to 10,000 Microns Process-related particle size and shape characterisation is opened up by integrated image analysis sensors PICTOS, PICTIS & PICCELL covering a size range from 1 µm to 10,000 µm. PICTOS integrates QICPIC dynamic image analysis and RODOS dry dispersion technology in a robust body, which was specifically developed for on-line applications. PICTIS combines image analysis and gentle gravitational disperser GRADIS, allowing at-line or on-line applications in process environments. And Piccell with its flow-through cuvette finally transfers wet dispersion to on-line operations of image analysis. Feeding of PICTOS is realized either with static probes, blending MIXER or by automatic or user-operated manual sample feeding. Together with the dynamic representative sampler TWISTER, PICTOS forms a perfectly coordinated and robust on-line process analysis system. An integration into control systems for processes or for automated laboratories is realised with common communication

High-Tech Particle Sizing Reproducible Analysis of particle shape and size
High-Tech Particle Sizing
Reproducible Analysis of particle shape and size Whether in the field of production and quality control, research, developement or the analytical laboratory, particle measurement is essential in many areas. This requires reproducible results, as with the FRITSCH Particle Sizers. But the choice is not always easy and must be specially adapted to the application. You can distinguish between different measuring principals. On the one hand for example the Static Light Scattering, ideal for particle sizing from 0.01 to 2100 µm. On the other hand for example Dynamic Image Analysis, for analysis of particle shape and size in an extra wide measuring range of 20µm – 20mm. Static Light Scattering The ANALYSETTE 22 NanoTec is the ideal Laser Particle Sizer for the determination of the particle size distrubutions of powdery samples, of solids in suspension and of emulsions. The instrument is perfectly suitable for the utilisation in production and quality control as well as in research and development. Your advantage:

QICPIC | RODOS & Co.
Dynamic Image Analyse | Particle Size and Particle Shape from below 1 to 34,000 Microns The modular image analysis sensor QICPIC combines size and shape analysis of disperse particle systems within a size range of < 1 µm to 34,000 µm. Numerous implementations in pharmaceutical and chemical industry, food and beverage technology or soil science just denote the array of applications in industry and research. Using a pulsed light source with illumination times in the nanosecond range the particles are optically frozen while a high-resolution, high-speed camera captures the razor-sharp particle projections with a frequency of up to 500 frames per second. The extremely short exposure times ensure capturing and clear imaging of even fastest singular particles. With powerful algorithms QICPIC is evaluating millions of particles in shortest time and guarantees outstanding statistically relevant results. The unrivalled, high speed RODOS dispersion empowers image analysis to master fine, dry and even agglomerating powders now as fine as 1.8 µm and above.
