Busch has significantly extended its series of dry-running Mink claw vacuum pumps. To achieve this, vacuum modules were designed that achieve suction capacity of up to 900 cubic metres per hour and more through the combination of several Mink claw vacuum pumps. These Mink MP vacuum modules were designed for operations which require high suction volumes, dry compression and high availability. Thanks to their modular construction, Mink vacuum systems can be excellently adapted to changing process conditions by altering the number or size of the Mink claw vacuum pumps in operation. Mink claw vacuum modules work extremely economically thanks to their non-contact compression principle. Because the moving parts in the compression chamber do not come into contact with one another, the vacuum pump operates 100% wear-free. Operating fluids such as oil or water for cooling or lubrication are not needed in the compression chamber. For the operator, this means almost no maintenance

Chinese delegation of the Chongqing Steel Group visited UWT in mid-July High-ranking managers of the Chongqing Steel Group of China together with the managing director of our company in Shanghai were guests of UWT from11th to 17th July. The Chongqing Steel Group is one of the major steel companies in China and is part of the clientele of UWT for years. On Monday afternoon just when the Chinese delegation arrived in Betzigau the gentlemen were welcomed with alphorn music in front of the UWT-building. After the welcome a detailed guided tour through the company followed. The next day items of the agenda were project meetings regarding expansion of the facilities in China and various product presentations. And to show the visitors a little the beautiful Allgäu trips to the Alpsee and the obligatory visit to the castle Neuschwanstein followed. Furthermore the delegation visited the house of Bavarian economy in Munich, where they could enjoy - after an excellent presentation on the German-Chinese economic relations - an original Bavarian

The vertical conveying of bulk solids with conventional machines like belt bucket elevator or belt conveyor with corrugated side walls can become a hard resolvable problem very often. That is why DOUBRAVA engineered the new TWIN BELT CONVEYOR. Product training for the new Japanese sales partner UWT is continuing the expansion, and since December 2010 we have a new sales partner in Asia. Four employees of our new partner JMC in Japan have been here in Betzigau at the end of May for two days for an intensive product training. The gentlemen came from Osaka and Tokyo. Our Product Manager, Mr. Johannes Blochum, instructed the employees of JMC in an intensive training on the skills which are necessary for successful sales of UWT products. The training contents were a basic product training for all UWT-products, in-depth basic knowledge of the products SN/VN/NB, practical exercises on the NB (setup, change of rope/tape, PCB replacement), introduction Nivowave (startup NW, connection to PC) and applications, application examples and success stories. According to the program the evening took place in a typical cottage with Allgäu flair and Bavarian hospitality, what the Japanese guests enjoyed very much.

Distributor CNN organized a seminar in Kuala Lumpur In the beginning of May our International Sales Manager, Mr. Markus Schalk, was away on a seminar and customer tour in Malaysia. On this trip Mr. Schalk performed three half-day seminars. The first technical seminar entitled "Solid Level Measurement - Overview About The Different Technologies" took place in Dorsette Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The organization was adopted by our distribution partner in Malaysia, CNN. Mr. Schalk explained to the participants the different products for level measurement from UWT. The group of participants consisted of decision makers in the various industries such as power plants, animal feed plants, plastic processing industry, etc. There were many relevant examples shown and discussed. Further seminars were carried out in Johor Bahru Malaysia (south) and in East Malaysia in Sarawak. The time between was used for various customer visits. Summing up we would like to say that the seminars were well attended and the feedback was very positive.

Award for Metallic and Steel building Technology Traineecompetition in the industry branch of WKOÖ 2011. On the 30th of April 2011 our Metallic and Steel building Technology trainees of the 2nd year as an apprentice compete voluntarily with other trainees in this sector again. It took them nearly 6 hours. During this time they had to create a work piece by marking out, cutting, drilling and so on. In line with the award at the Linzer Design Center the winners were honored.
