J-Tec designs mixing installation for difficult product Prefabricated installation for North Africa
J-Tec designs mixing installation for difficult product
Prefabricated installation for North Africa Being part of Katoen Natie, a world leader when it comes to port activities, logistics and semi-industrial services, has its advantages. Katoen Natie has over 4.8 million m² of warehouses located throughout 25 countries, worldwide. As a member of this international player, we’re able to use its facilities for the benefit of our projects. For example: A manufacturer asked us to engineer and build a blending line in a North-African country. The installation consists out of 4 main parts: dry material handling, CIP, kneading and bagging. Our know-how about how to treat the given product, combined with our experience in international projects, was decisive for awarding us this contract. The dry material handling level consists out of a bag discharging station, a mixer and a pneumatic conveying line equipped with a metal detection system. The conveying line feeds a loss in weight feeder installed above a kneader. Next to the dry handling ap¬plication we also

New Multiflux Mixer GMS C from Gericke
New Multiflux Mixer GMS C from Gericke
Gericke’s Multiflux® mixer GMS creates with its 2 horizontal, overlapping mixing rotors a fluidized bed. As a mixing process is based on the exchange of the particles in a volume by convection, this principle is very efficient for the energy-saving and product respecting mixing. The GMS mixer is known as long-lasting and reliable process equipment. In order to complete its existing range, Gericke has made a redesign of the GMS Multiflux mixer that responds to the increasing demand for hygienic execution in the food and pharmaceutical industry. The new model is called GMS C. C stands for cantilevered and refers to the 2 shafts that are cantilevered, offering many advantages. Not only the number of sealing is divided by 2. Due to the construction, the front side of the mixer can be opened entirely. In the high end version, named the GMS ECD, the operator can pull out the complete drive and mixing shafts out of the body. Large lateral doors offer an easy access

New Gericke Continuous Mixer GCM 800 ECB and 1200 ECB
New Gericke Continuous Mixer GCM 800 ECB and 1200 ECB
Highest mixing homogeneity and the hygienic design characterize the continuous mixers GCM made by Gericke. The series has now been further improved by the models type GCM ECB. With the latest design it is possible to extract the drive and the mixer housing for easy access. The mixer has 3 operation positions: - 1 Mixing position - 2 Cleaning positions The GCM 800 ECB and 1200 ECB are equipped with a cantilevered shaft and a shaft seal which can be dismantled completely in a very simple way. In this hygienic version, the parts in contact with the product are polished. The mixer has no hollow bodies where residue can build up. The experiences made with the mixers during the operation have been incorporated in the design of this latest model. For the user it means a remarkable improvement in regard of accessibility to all components and excellent cleanability of the mixer. The GCM mixer is suitable for the operation in ATEX zones. Optionally the mixer can be

Dinnissen introduces Dry Cleaning in Place for air-based quick, efficient and hygienic cleaning of mixing systems
Dinnissen introduces Dry Cleaning in Place
for air-based quick, efficient and hygienic cleaning of mixing systems Dinnissen Process Technology has developed the fully automatic air-based Dry Cleaning in Place concept. The new method allows companies to clean their mixing and transport systems quickly, efficiently and hygienically. Weighing bunkers, mixers and storage bunkers are blow-cleaned, removing 99.9% of any residual materials. The system is especially suitable for companies in the feed, food and chemical industries. It allows them to benefit by reducing labour costs, minimizing downtime when switching from one product to another, preventing the loss of raw materials, and eliminating clumping, sticking/caking (contamination) and growth of microorganisms. Fully automatic cleaning system based on dry air Companies that wish to clean their mixing system after a product switch often do so manually using traditional cleaning techniques such as water, cleaning agents, and knocking or sweeping away residual materials. This is very labour-intensive and not always effective enough.

New mixing technique significantly reduces rework
New mixing technique significantly reduces rework
Dinnissen Process Technology and K-Tron are introducing a new variant of Pandora End of Line Mixing® especially suited for significantly reducing rework. This enables companies to realize significant savings on the costs involved in the collection and removal of rework and the cleaning costs during the production process. It goes without saying that the new mixing concept retains the original classic characteristics which have made Pandora End of Line Mixing® into such a success. New mixer reduces the costs of collection, recycling and cleaning. The new variant of Pandora End of Line Mixing®, which we will be introducing to the market this summer, was specially developed to significantly reduce rework. The very accurate feeders from K-tron respond extremely quickly to the process controls. In addition, this new variant of the Pandora End of Line Mixing® concept is fitted with a special batch-start-up-setting, based on intelligent cut-off valves which close off

Draiswerke appoints Benelux agent Sales, service and parts for DCP vertical beadmills
Draiswerke appoints Benelux agent
Sales, service and parts for DCP vertical beadmills 1st Jan 2008 saw Agencies & Consultancy appointed as representative to the US based company Draiswerke inc. Drais is well known for its vertical DCP Megavantis and DCP Megaflow bead-mills which are a reference in suspension milling technology. Drais DCP technology lets you use very small size grinding media for milling in nano-particle size, whilst maintaining superb process temp control. As there are a lot of these machines on the ground it is paramount to establish a well furnished after sales service and parts supply. Draiswerke inc. also builds an extensive range of mixers, kneaders and process-reactors under the Turbulent brand-name, as well as the popular Torrmat planetary kneader. Gelimat is yet another ground-breaking Draiswerke development: Gelimat is a thermokinetic mixer for plastics compounding. In a matter of seconds wood-fibres and other waste are mixed with plastics into re-useable compounds which can be further processed. Owners of old and

High performance mixer for low headroom!
High performance mixer for low headroom!
The demand of toady’s factories for a modern mixer includes high capacity range, easy cleaning and small dimensions to safe space. Gericke’s GMS mixer is equipped with horizontally aligned double shaft rotors and is offering a very interesting ratio of mixer’s volume and required headroom. A 2000 l volume mixer needs less than 1.5 m headroom! The mixing tools create a fluidised bed which allows the particles to move easy and quick in the mixing chamber, without introduction of energy that would destroy the particles. Gericke therefore calls the mixer ‚Multiflux‘ mixer. The typical mixing time is below 1 minute and avoids the breakage of different ingredients like powders and agglomerates. The special shape of the mixing paddles allow the quick and efficient emptying of the mixer after a production cycle. The low number and good access to the mixing paddles makes the cleaning easy. Gericke supplies all additional equipment being necessary to fill the
