Customer: Plastic pipe manufacturer Features: Two 2-way Vortex Wye Line Diverters with air actuation & Ceram-Back inlets. For outdoor use in a pneumatic conveying system. Application: Find a solution to divert PVC resin toward several extrusion lines, while minimizing wear and abrasion at the valve. Results: The wye line diverters were installed separately to support two different conveying lines. Each diverter was fed by its own hopper (two hoppers, in total). Once resin reaches the diverter, it can be directed from one inlet toward either of two locations (1-to-2 configuration). In total, the two wye line diverters can supply materials toward four separate extrusion lines. Because PVC resin can have abrasive material characteristics, the customer expressed concern for abrasion and wear – particularly to the valve body. Moisture measurement for coffeebeans in jute sacks The AMMS sensor with its integrated microprocessor establishes a transition between the DMMS system and the analog moisture measuring sensor MMS. Besides a power supply, this sensor only needs a display or a PLC which is waiting for its measuring value. The AMMS sensor has been designed for applications which do not need a multi-pieced system but benefit of a precise on-line calibration that is able to compensate the influences of the installation. It’s also possible to calibrate the AMMS sensor directly by an integrated rotary encoder. This work actually takes place before the sensor has been installed. Haver & Boecker presents the new generation of CpaServ software at Powtech, in Nuremberg HAVER CpaServ software is the “artificial intelligence” for CPA particle measurement technology. The user interface allows a wide range of measurement procedures to be easily defined and initiated. Measurement and evaluation is then done automatically, with no more intervention by the user. However, if necessary, all data – down to the individual particle – can be reexamined and reanalyzed in many different ways. When developing the CpaServ 2 software, Haver & Boecker again focused on improved ease of use, clarity and efficiency for the user. Visit amixon at the Powtech 2017 The recipe of the mixture in this mixing task is very complex. The components consist of large, small, round, square, and rectangular particles, such as: dried vegetables, ground spices, natural aromas, liquid extracts, stabilizers, enzymes and many others. The mixing process in the amixon® mixer takes place in two steps. In the first step, the powdery components are intensively moistened with liquid additives such as oil, fat, spice extract, oleoresin, and lecithin. In the same mixer step 2 follows: The fragile components are added (dill tips, onion rings, mushrooms, etc.) and are gently folded in. The end product flows easily and is free from dust. The coarse particles do not break. The ”multi-step” process takes place with minimal energy input and without a measurable increase in tempera-ture. EBW 20-MID3 The new built-in belt scale EBW 20-MID3 is a further development of the known legal-for-trade belt scale EBW 20-MID. The design of the belt scale has been revised constructively: The robust weighing platform is supported by three high precision load cells. This type of force introduction ensures the reliability and stability of the measurement and allows a very precise and exact height adjustment of the measuring frame. The EBW 20-MID3 is suitable for weighing of very light and voluminous bulk materials such as wood wool or PET recycling materials. Another advantage: A static test provides the possibility to calibrate the belt scale with check weights. The two idler belt scale is for belt widths from 800 to 1,200 mm and can be easily retrofitted in belt conveyors. The load cells are secured by a transport and overload protection. In combination with the control unit WC 9604, the belt scale has a MID approval according to OIML R50 class 0.5/ 1 and 2.
