“Fit for Future“ by long-term cooperation with innovative strategies This year, the ”Regional Sales Meeting” with UWT China was held in Shanghai Songjiang. Therefore Managing Director of UWT GmbH Uwe Niekrawietz and Markus Schalk, Managing Partner UWT ISM GmbH, as well as Area Sales Manager Guoyan Zhang-Mailänder from Germany came together with the team of UWT International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. on 10th March. In addition another 43 sales representatives of 21 partner companies from the different regions of China were invited to exchange their experience, discuss the temporary situation on the Chinese markets for measurement technology and accordingly design new sales strategies. RHEWUM high efficiency screening machines for sugar RHEWUM was faced with this task by the Indian Cane Power Limited (ICPL). For this purpose a screening plant with a combination of the type RHEWUM WA and RHEWUM WAU was delivered to India. The fed 300 tons per hour are precisely classified by only two RHEWUM sieves into the five required fractions of 1.80 mm/ 1.20 mm/ 0.80 mm/ 0.45 mm and 0.25 mm. The electromagnetic drive that is specific to RHEWUM is particularly used for the fine separations of less than 1 mm, whereas the low-maintenance WAU drive is used for separating fractions of 1.80 mm and 1.20 mm. The screening plant is loaded by two SV feeders that each evenly distribute 150 tons of cane sugar per hour on the post-positioned screening machine. The discerning customer chose a high quality stainless steel design. Vortex Flex Tube Diverter Valve Handling Chili Powder When this national company was considering a new blending and mixing station, much of the emphasis for the project was placed on increasing output with additional production efficiency. Previously, the company had experienced issues with valves and diverters within an old system. The diverters caused cross-contamination among the product recipes and the slide gates leaked to atmosphere. In both cases, the expensive chili powder had to be trashed. Chili powder leaking to atmosphere creates an airborne health hazard (eyes and skin) and also a “slippery floor” safety hazard for company employees. The new system incorporated a Vortex flex tube diverter to eliminate product cross-contamination and Vortex roller gates to shut off and seal material at the bottom of dry blenders and mixers. Production was impressed with the performance of the Vortex valves as well as the maintenance friendly features each one has to offer. “These valves truly seal our material.”

Magnetic filter meets the highest food safety standard The EHEDG magnetic filter recently introduced by Goudsmit Magnetics is specially designed for the food industry. This hygienic filter is suitable for CIP systems: the magnet can be magnetically operated, without the need to open the filter housing for cleaning. The filter is constructed of Neodymium magnets that provide more effective separation of very small ferrous particles as small as 15µm, weakly magnetic particles and even iron dust from sticky substances such as chocolate, pastes, powders and fruit juices. The magnet has a maximum flux density of 11,300 gauss at the bar and removes the specified particles from both liquid and powdered products. The entire system is made of grade 316 stainless steel, is smoothly finished (Ra≤0.4ųm) and is EHEDG certified. CIP CLEANING Cleaning of the magnet occurs automatically. ACO moisture measurement for biomass like wood chips, sawdust and wood shavings Properties: Ideal material conditions for the on-line moisture measurement Flexible mounting of the bypass screw conveyor Maintenance flap for taking samples Subsequently applicable Great experience in the field of saw dust Versions: Length, height, dimensions of flanges on customer requirements Version for explosion-risk areas (EX) The SFM4 bypass screw compaction unit has to be placed in a free fall situation of material, e.g. in a drop shaft. A partial flow of this material is trapped in the first section of the compaction unit. The screw compactor compresses the material and conveys it into the second part of the unit, right across the installed ACO moisture sensor for the determination of the residual moisture. Then the material falls down through a drop pipe back into the process. Based on this constant and equal conditions (density, dumping height, etc...) precise measuring results are available.

Maximum safety for pneumatically filled silos with the silo filling device SFA from MOLLET The silo filling device SFA is a substantial part of the MOLOSsafe silo protection system from MOLLET. MOLOSsafe is a complete and independent protection system and the best possible protection for silos that are pneumatically filled by silo-vehicles. The basic package contains beside the silo filling device a high-level indicator, a control and a signal horn and can be supplemented with further useful elements like signal lamp, pressure valve, pressure indicator, demand indicator or empty detector. The silo filling device SFA consist mainly of a pinch valve of the MOLOSvalve series and a MOLOSswing swiveling lever. The pinch valve is the ideal solution for the shutting off pneumatically conveyed powdery and grained bulk goods. Due to the straight and not reduced passage through the valve there are no jams and no reduction of the feed pressure. Ships that are loaded with cement can be unloaded dust-free using a pneumatic loading and unloading installation. Van Aalst Group specializes in both mobile self-unloaders and unloading systems that are installed on cement carriers. The installations are always equipped with TBMA loading chutes to ensure the dust-free transfer of product. Ship loads of cement can be transferred efficiently and dust- free into silos using a pneumatic loading and unloading facility. These facilities can be equipped with a loading chute that is able to fill bulk trucks and/or railcars. If a port only occasionally docks a cement-carrying ship, it will not necessarily be equipped with an onshore pneumatic unloading system with loading chute. In this situation, it is better if the vessel itself is equipped with an unloading installation. These vessels are especially useful as they can sail all over the world, and call at ports that lack the appropriate infrastructure for unloading cement. …

Novelty of innovative sensors and quality of established technology Together with UWT Level Control India Pvt. Ltd. a seminar for plant operators and machine manufacturers was organized in Alibag, Maharashtra. The participants from various industry sectors got exciting insights regarding “Influences in measuring level of solids”. At the event it has been demonstrated the reliable technology from UWT Level Control, for content measurement with lot and radar sensor as well as for point level measurement. Here the sensors work with different measuring principles of the rotary, vibrating and capacitive principle. For their different process applications the attendees were especially interested in the latest UWT level switches of the non-contact radar sensor NivoRadar® and the new vibrating rod Mononivo®. Spain’s most important exhibition for bulk solids During 14th - 16th February well-known companies around the globe exhibited at the EXPOSOLIDOS 2017 in the La Farga de L’Hospitalet. Main focuses were technology for the handling, processing and transportation of solid, bulk material, dry powder, semi-solid and liquid-solid separation. Together with partner Elion from Spain UWT GmbH presented there innovative solutions concerning measurement technology. In addition to demonstrating the proven product portfolio of level and level limit detectors two very new sensors were highlighted: The innovative radar sensor NivoRadar® 3000 and the compact vibrating rod Mononivo® 4000.
