In addition to the durable unbalanced motors that are normally used at RHEWUM, the company now offers two special series. These two series were especially optimized for use in their respective fields. The first one is a high frequency drive (type HF) that can be operated with a power frequency of 100 Hz instead of 50 Hz or 60 Hz whereas the other is a long-life drive (type LL) that has a significantly higher service life than common unbalanced motors. With the special design, now patent-pending, the drives and bearings “keep a cool head”. In comparison to other drives, the RHEWUM long-life motors have a reduced temperature of up to 10 degrees Celsius by contrast with the environment. What is the benefit? A lower temperature of the bearing automatically increases its service life which has also a positive effect on the life cycle of the entire drive. New microsite goes live Glatt has launched a new internet platform that explains how its latest technology offers virtually limitless possibilities for developing tailor-made high-performance powders. On the new microsite, Glatt presents its revolutionary thermal process for powder synthesis, APPtec. The abbreviation APPtec stands for Advanced Pulse Powder technology by Glatt, which represents a groundbreaking development in spray calcination. In the hot gas reactor, primary particles can be equipped with almost unlimited adjustable chemical and mineralogical compositions and with previously unattainable properties. In a single process step, size, particle structure and surface can be individually defined and implemented. For instance, functional core-shell particles can be given application-specific layer thickness, porosity and activity.

POWTECH 2017 From 26 to 28 September 2017, the POWTECH trade fair will once again draw experts in powdered and bulk goods from around the world to the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Some 900 exhibitors, about 30 percent of them from abroad, will have their innovations and developments on display. At POWTECH, users from the glass and ceramic industry will find solutions for their entire process chain, from grinding, measuring out and agglomerating to in-service process and quality control.
