A pet food manufacturer needed to divert kibble dry food from a feeder into one of two disc conveyors, which transports the kibbles to the packaging line. Vortex engineered several 254mm Seal Tite Diverters constructed from stainless steel for the pet food company. The four Vortex Seal Tite Diverters feature a removable access door that allows inspection, maintenance and repairs to be performed without removing the diverter from service. The Seal Tite Diverters also feature removable parts. For return-on-investment purposes, this feature is beneficial because it allows for the replacement of worn parts, rather than full diverter replacement. The Seal Tite Diverters are designed so that the leading edge of the blade actuates into a recessed area. This protects the blade’s seals from the material flow stream, which would otherwise cause them to wear and allow material leakage into the closed diverter leg. Allgaier Process Technology is presenting a completely redesigned separation table for efficient separation of dry and non-sticky moist materials according to their density at IFAT: Thanks to its new design, the GSort can also be used for sorting tasks that could previously only be solved using water-based processes, e.g. setting machines. In contrast to previous separation tables, the new GSort can solve a wider range of tasks not only in the recycling industry - especially with regard to heavy products such as slags or shredded scrap mixtures between one and 80 mm in size. It can also be used in mining. There the GSort can supplement or completely replace conventional water-based processes such as wet setting tables for product separation. The path into the digital age Allgaier Process Technology again proves its innovation capability with the Allgaier ProcessApp, which will celebrate its world premiere at Achema 2018. With this new development, customers now have a digital twin of their machine virtually in their pocket. The App, which is intuitive to use, is currently available for all newly delivered Allgaier tumbler screening machines. Each new machine is equipped with its own QR code. The machine can be uniquely identified immediately by scanning the code. A digital twin of the machine and an interactive drawing guides the user of the App easily to the appropriate spare parts. The user can select and send inquiry for these parts from Allgaier with one simple click. In addition, with a mobile device, the customer can view the documentation of the specific machine right at the production site. Magnetic head pulley separator achieves value of 9000 gauss Goudsmit has recently upgraded the magnetic head pulley separators, increasing the generated magnetic force to over 9000 gauss. These high gradient separators remove weakly magnetic and paramagnetic particles down to around 10-15 mm from bulk and recycling flows. This includes bits of stainless steel from shredded WEEE, ASR and plastic flows. It is also suitable for removal of specific soil contaminants, soil, stones and iron dust from ceramic material or blasting grit. The magnetic head pulley has a radial magnet construction and is used for smaller fractions, up to around 10-15 mm, and for single layer thicknesses. A precondition for optimal separation is that the ferromagnetic particles have been previously removed from the product stream, thus enabling the separator to function with optimal effect on the weakly magnetic particles which pass the magnet at a constant flow rate. Non-stick feeder module improves fine non-ferrous separation from IBA flows Goudsmit Magnetics is producing a black edition of the EddyFines® 38HI eddy current separator specially for IFAT 2018. This updated separator has a non-stick feeder module that further improves non-ferrous separation from IBA (Incinerator Bottom Ash) flows. For the black edition, the magnetic drum separator with vibratory feeder has been replaced by a non-stick feeder module with integrated 1800 or 3000 gauss head roller magnetic separator. Owing to the moist, cement-like product consistency of, in particular, incinerator slags, the use of a magnetic drum separator led to uneven distribution and sticking on and in the vibratory feeder trough and in the shell of the magnetic drum separator. This resulted in poorer process control and poorer separation results. In the improved version, the feeder module is fed with a mono-layer, resulting in perfect distribution over the width of the belt.
