Product distributor replaces vibratory chute and prevents clogging The conveyor feed recently developed by Goudsmit Magnetics consists of a conveyor belt feed that is supplied by a product distributor. This prevents clogging of the vibratory chute during the recycling process and increases the yield of non-ferrous metals. Sticky or damp product streams, such as incinerator bottom ash (IBA) and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) adhere to the surface of vibratory chutes, preventing them from distributing the product evenly. The product takes on a preferred orientation (the path of least resistance) preventing formation of a homogeneous layer, which results in reduced yield of non-ferrous metals. Until now, a common solution to this problem was to clean the feed belt or vibratory chute at weekly or monthly intervals. This, however, means unnecessary downtime and extra maintenance. On the 07th and 08th November 2018 the trade fair SOLIDS also took place in Dortmund This year we were represented twice at the SOLIDS (SOLIDS Antwerp). On the Dortmund fairground 500 companies presented their latest products and solutions for the processing, handling and storage of fine-grained to coarse-grained materials. The special: Dortmund SOLIDS illustrates the whole value chain of the branch. We presented our screen recirculation system consisting of mobile WA (U)-sieving machine, high-speed conveyor tube and spiral conveyor type SC.

KG, the manufacturer of baling presses, recycling systems and PET solutions in Southern Germany, as an area sales manager since 1st September 2018. He is responsible for the region North Germany as well as for Holland and Belgium. The first parts of the conveyor belts designed and produced by Jansen&Heuning are transported to the Eemshaven with Convoi Exeptionnel. There they are used for the sustainable use of the power plant of RWE. Herewith up to 20% biomass (wood chips) can be added as sustainable fuel for the 2 power generators, each with a power of more than 700 MegaWatt. These belts are in total 300 meters long and have a capacity of 1600 m³ per hour. We are proud that we, as a company from Groningen, can make an important contribution to this energy transition!

In this client’s application, the Vortex HDPV2 is installed alongside a second pre-existing slide gate. The two gates operate in tandem to be used as a diverter. The HDPV2 is 355 mm per the client’s request. The HDPV2 is capable of handling material temperatures up to 121°C continuous service, with modifications available to accommodate material temperatures up to 232°C. Thus, material temperatures were not a concern. Though cement powder can be abrasive, the HDPV2 has proven capable of handling this material. Therefore, material characteristics were not a concern. In this application, a greater concern was convey line pressure. Although the 356 mm HDPV2 valve is capable of sealing against convey line pressures up to 3.10 barg, there was initial concern that if both gates were closed at once, undue stress may be put on the HDPV2 and could test the gate’s sealing capabilities. Their Use in Enhancing Quality in the Manufacture of Magnets Neodymium-iron-boron-magnets (Nd-Fe-B) are so-called rare earth magnets distinguished by their very high energy densities. A decisive factor for the quality and properties of permanent magnets is a narrow particle size distribution with the lowest possible fraction of finest- (< 2 µm) and coarsest particles (> 8 µm). The NETZSCH company offers innovative solutions to this application problem with a patent pending grinding process with downstream classifying of rare earth powders. The design of this process led to the development of jet mills and ultra-fine classifiers with which sensitive Nd-Fe-B-compounds or other rare earth alloys can be ground reliably to fine powders under inert gas operation giving a narrow particle size distribution and defined upper particle size limit with reproducible results. Concetti recently celebrated a century of activity in manufacturing by inaugurating the expansion and modernization of their Bastia Umbra headquarters facility, a fully digital and interconnected industry 4.0 factory, where packaging and palletising systems for bulk products are produced and exported to over 60 countries worldwide. The expansion will help to make Concetti more efficient and productive, in preparation for the supply and installation of new systems in the coming years. The project represents a €5 million investment and will add over 8000 square metres to the plant, increasing both office and assembly space.
