Vertical mixer with conical base
for very thorough emptying of residues If it is important to have very high residual emptying rates, the amixon® conical mixers and mixer-dryers are particularly appropriate. Together with the patented "sliding blades", the conical base ensures residual emptying rates of almost 100%. With the "sliding blades", the mixing gear is tilted to a horizontal position. This improves removal of the product residues. Otherwise, the same requirements related to and governing the technical aspects of the process apply as have already been described for the vertical vacuum mixer-dryers with flat bases. The maximum feed particle size is approx. 20 mm edge length. The fineness attainable (d50) is down to approx. 12 mm (largest gap width) or 0.1 mm (smallest gap width). The maximum throughput of 150 kg/h depends on the gap setting and the hardness of the sample. XPT on-line measuremetn systems for particle size, count shape XPT XenParTec is a particle size, count and shape analyser based on real time image analysis with XPT program. XPT-C is a system with flow-through cells and can be used in lab and on-line in process. The elaborate software package has many options and additional to normal particle size analysis for example allows counting of particles depending on shape (application: fibres contamination detection), brightness differentiation (black-spec detection) or tracking of shape change in process. with RETSCH Planetary Ball Mills When producing ultra-fine grinding material with a ball mill, certain stress mechanisms are necessary to ensure that the minute particles can be crushed at all. That is why ultra-fine grinding (colloidal grinding) through mechanical stress is mostly done in liquid media; moreover, it requires a high energy input and pressure and shearing forces which act upon the sample material. The RETSCH Planetary Ball Mill PM 100 meets these requirements. Thanks to the opposite rotation of sun wheel and grinding jar, the large effective sun wheel diameter and the high rotational speed of the sun wheel, the PM 100 possesses the required energy input for the production of nanoparticles. Eventually, the best possible combination of machine parameters and jar fillings determines the success of a colloidal grinding process. AMMAG: Granulating, coating and gentle conveying
with the new laborscale-granulator A-WT25 and the pneumatic dense phase conveying system TPA The Austrian plant engineering and construction company AMMAG is specialised on spray granulation / coating and bulk material handling (conveying, silos, big bags, dosing and weighing). Own test plants in lab and pilot scale are used to test all process steps and to develop new products together with the customers. Toll manufacturing of these joint developments is possible, too. AMMAG has developed and constructed a novel laborscale spraygranulator A-WT 25. Air supply/-heating station and process-modul are designed in sparate units. The future of mobile measurement acquisition The mobile acquisition of measurements through a data logger function is the task that can now be accomplished at a completely new level with the help of two new instruments. JUMO GmbH & Co. KG, Fulda, Germany, is presenting two new instruments at the Hanover Fair, as replacements for the existing portable digital thermometers that have been used in their thousands. Both versions have a sensor input for Pt100 resistance thermometers and type K thermocouples. The inputs can be set up as required, thus enabling the use of an extremely wide range of probe types. The temperature is indicated with an accuracy of 0.1% in a multi-line display. The JUMO TDA 300 has the capability to store up to 99 measurements within the instrument. Five different measurement point designations can also be assigned to these measurements. New disinfection product for cleanrooms class A/B, or ISO 5
The Adams/Ecolab range of disinfection products available from basan has been extended with the introduction of a new product. Acticlens – a sporicide cleaning and disinfection product based on peracetic acid and in powder form. The product is suitable for spore disinfection as necessary (as required by the FDA) as well as to extend the rotation of active agents required in both European and FDA guidelines. In a concentration of 2 per cent, Acticlens is approved as a bactericide (EN 1276), fungicide (EN 1650) and sporicide (EN 13704). Based on its almost neutral pH value in working concentration, the product shows an excellent material tolerance. Acticlens provides such an effective cleaning performance that routine cleaning and disinfection are mostly possible in a single step.

If ignition sources are transported into filters and silos via the extraction system or other conveying facilities, devastating fires and explosions can be triggered. By means of infrared sensors and downstream extinguishing nozzles, the ignition sources in mechanical and pneumatic conveying systems are reliably detected and extinguished before they reach plant areas at risk. For those applications in which water extinguishment is not possible or reasonable, GreCon developed special fire traps or diversion gates, which prevent the damaging effects of the ignition sources as quickly as the water extinguishment. Bulkflow Technologies Inc. will present an innovative HT cooler for high temperature applications, designed for product temperatures up to 1000°C. The concept uses horizontal, water cooled tubes in a “serpentine” configuration, which prevents high local stresses and hot spots. The tube walls are typically refractory lined. As in the well-proven plate design heat exchangers from Bulkflow Technologies Inc, the product flows in mass flow, by gravity through the tube bundle. Applications for this high temperature cooler are catalysts, minerals such as alumina, ash and char from boilers and furnaces.
