Wiesbaden, Germany, April 29, 2005 - The Bulk Academy presents as a premiere event BULK DAYS 2005. The event takes place 12th and 13th October 2005 during POWTECH 2005. It is located within the exhibition facilities of NuernbergMesse. Target group are representatives, engineers, researchers and technical managers from industry, equipment suppliers and institutions who are involved in any aspect of bulk materials handling, storage, transportation and processing. BULK DAYS are offering a new format of seminars and workshops. They provide a platform to discuss state of art in technology. At present, KOCH Transporttechnik GmbH is building the world’s longest Pipe Conveyor with a total length of 8.2 km for Cementos Lima / Peru. The system has been designed for the bi-directional transport of different material types between the cement plant in Atoconga and the ship loading facility in Conchán Beach. The transport system will be transporting cement and clinker from the plant to the ship loading facility in the upper strand (690 t/h), and on the way back, it will convey coal and limestone, as well as iron ore, iron pellets, gypsum, etc., in the system’s lower strand (515 t/h). In parts, the conveying line between the plant and the ship loading pier winds through a rather busy infrastructure with numerous public roads. Consequently, the transport system will be installed in a specially build tunnel, over a distance of 6.5 km below the public road system. Mixing Powders - Made Easy by DEC DEC (Dietrich Engineering Consultants sa) developed the PTS-Batchmixer to mix active substances without modifying their physical properties and without the risk of contamination for operators. It transfers, mixes and discharges products fully automatically and is especially suited to the needs of the pharma industry. The PTS-Batchmixer mixes powders with large differences in ratio (1/10,000) and totally different properties in a totally contained way. The system comprises a main container with an integrated central deflector. A PTS powder transfer system with two tangential inlets is installed on top of the container. Powders are introduced automatically and circulated in the container. The deflector guarantees a homogenous distribution of the mixture in the container. The mixing effect in the PTS body when the two jets of powder meet, increases the speed and effectiveness of the mixing process. Dust explosion in siloplants has become a topic and literally a hot issue since new ATEX regulations have become applicable.
