External pole magnets make powders free of iron Suitable for free-fall lines and pneumatic transport lines
External pole magnets make powders free of iron
Suitable for free-fall lines and pneumatic transport lines Two powerful catch magnets are mounted on the outside of the stainless steel (304) casing which, depending on the model, separate coarse or very fine iron particles from various different materials flows. The external pole magnet can be mounted in free-fall lines or pneumatic transport lines and is suitable for the bulk, plastics, recycling and animal feed industries and for the pharmaceutical and foodstuffs industries. An advantage of this external core mounting is that there is no bridging on the inside or clogging up of the material. Cleaning is done without interrupting the product flow. As the valve-box is fully integrated into the design, the construction height remains limited. Rare earth magnets Neodymium-Iron-Borium (Neoflux = rare earth) magnets are used for the self-cleaning external pole as these remove very fine iron particles. The casing is completely smooth, welding seams are finished off so that there is no breeding-ground for bacteria. Magnets

Preventing contamination of milk powder Combination of magnet and metal detector for reaching the HACCP standard
Preventing contamination of milk powder
Combination of magnet and metal detector for reaching the HACCP standard A fully automatic rotating clean-flow magnet removes ferrous particles from milk powder. This new magnet type for continuous production processes can be cleaned automatically.. Moreover, the company can supply the magnet in combination with a metal detector so the product is finally checked just before loading and no metal contamination is left in the product. Substances which are sticky and irregular in shape, as for instance milk powder, form a bridge over the magnet rods as they are mounted above each other in a staggered position. The rotating movement prevents the product from sticking on the rods. The system is suited for 40 m3 powder per hour and is of course executed in an extremely hygienic version.

New application of Comitrol milling machines
Milling of cacao nibs Successfull tests have been completed recently in the milling of cacao nibs into a homogeneous pumpable paste. The objective of the customer was to obtain a pumpable paste with a particle size smaller than 100 microns which could be fed to a ball mill for final size reduction. Customers problem with the present machine was the penetrating smell of cacao for the environment, which caused him to stop the production line. The Urschel machine used was the Comitrol Processor Model 1700 with micro cutting head and with an impeller speed of 11,000 rpm. The motor power was 40 Hp. The result was a very fine paste with a relatively low temperature after milling of about 55°C. This temperature and the compact practically closed milling system reduces the smell of cacao aroma`s considerably. The capacity of the machine was from 800 - 1,000 kgs/hr.
