REMBE Trains Over 50 European Partners in Brilon

REMBE trained more than 50 European sales representatives and subsidiaries in Brilon from 9 to 12 September, including explosion demonstrations. New sites in Poland and France and a logistics centre follow.

Meeting of European Partners in Brilon

From 9 to 12 September, REMBE headquarters in Brilon hosted the European sales representatives and subsidiaries of the specialist for plant safety and explosion protection. More than 50 participants received intensive training on technology, safety culture and new products, and committed to joining forces to serve the EU single market together.

Stefan Penno, CEO of REMBE, opened the event with thoughtful words: "A hundred years ago, Germany destroyed Europe. Now powers outside Europe are trying to tear down the EU single market. At REMBE we will not allow that, and we are joining forces. It is high time!"

Fire and Explosion Demonstrations

A highlight of the training were fire and explosion demonstrations, also attended by the Brilon fire brigade. All participants were impressed by the impact of dust explosions and by how REMBE products protect people and the environment from serious damage.

Expansion in Europe and Investment in Brilon

REMBE is rapidly expanding its presence in Europe. In addition to its established branches in Austria, Italy and Finland, new sites in Poland and France were set up in the first half of 2026 alone. The company is also investing in Brilon and creating new jobs: a logistics centre with a floor area of 4,000 m² is planned next, and a fully automated machining centre at Gallbergweg will start operation in the coming weeks.

"It is like riding a bicycle: if we stop, we fall over," says Stefan Penno. He expects times will not get easier and that everyone must stick together even more closely.

Growth of the REMBE Alliance

Over the past 25 years, REMBE GmbH Safety+Control has increased its revenue at its Brilon headquarters from 10.9 million euros to 63.5 million euros. The entire REMBE Alliance, with six affiliated companies and twelve branches worldwide, generates revenue of around 100 million euros.

Optimizing Spray Drying: Real-Time Humidity & Fire Detection
Humidity dictates spray drying efficiency and safety. REMBE’s CO.Pilot measures absolute humidity in real time, helping operators slash energy costs, stabilize product quality, and detect early-stage fires with integrated CO monitoring. How Humidity Dictates Spray Drying Outcomes In spray drying, humidity has a significant influence on the entire process. Both the absolute humidity in the supply air and in the exhaust air directly determine the drying dynamics - with consequences for energy efficiency, product quality and process safety. The Cost of High Supply and Exhaust Humidity Excessive humidity in the supply air reduces the vapour pressure gradient between the product and the air. The consequences are reduced evaporation rates, longer drying times and higher energy consumption. At the same time, high exhaust air humidity can be an indication of inefficient drying, for example due to condensation, inadequate air routing or overloading of the system. In such cases, undesirable material deposits often occur. The Hidden Risks of Overdrying Your Product Excessively low humidity in the exhaust air should be viewed critically. It often indicates overdrying. This leads to unnecessary energy consumption…

REMBE CO.Pilot Success Story – Saalemühle Alsleben
The early detection of fire hazards is one of the greatest challenges in milling operations. Enormous airflows and closed processes mean that smoke or heat often become noticeable only when it is already too late. Saalemühle Alsleben, Germany’s largest family-run milling group, has partnered with REMBE to develop a solution. With the CO.Pilot, an innovative CO detection concept was implemented, based on highly sensitive laser absorption spectroscopy and differential measurements between the inlet and exhaust air. This approach filters out external interference and provides reliable real-time data. The result was a breakthrough: the CO.Pilot detected the very first traces of carbon monoxide - clear indicators of incipient smouldering processes - long before conventional sensors would have reacted. The stable measurement curves made it possible to define safe alarm thresholds, initiate immediate protection measures, and prevent incidents before they could escalate. This success story impressively demonstrates the key strength of the CO.Pilot: combining safety and efficiency in a single solution - protecting equipment, avoiding unplanned downtime, and proving that reliable…

Explosion Safety Wiki from REMBE GmbH Safety+Control
REMBE, a leader in explosion safety, has launched its comprehensive Explosion Safety Wiki, a free online resource dedicated to educating industry professionals and the public on the critical concepts of explosion prevention and protection. The wiki serves as a vital guide for understanding regulatory requirements and implementing effective safety measures in industrial plants worldwide. Serious and costly hazard Industrial explosions are a serious and costly hazard. The history of industrial accidents shows that explosions in unprotected plants can lead to immense structural and financial damage, often driving companies to bankruptcy. Even if nobody is harmed, every hour of lost production costs money and puts the company’s existence at risk. For example, the most severe explosion in German history occurred in 1921 at BASF in Ludwigshafen, resulting in 561 fatalities. Industrial plants must be protected against the consequences of explosions to ensure employee safety and quick resumption of production. Explosion safety concepts can dramatically reduce or even eliminate production downtime. Causes of an industrial explosion Understanding what causes an industrial explosion. Explosions occur when…

REMBE safety experts impress exhibition visitors in Frankfurt
In addition to numerous new products and innovations, the REMBE team surprised visitors to the world’s largest chemical exhibition with a world première. For the first time, an explosion was triggered by pure muscle power. The predestined candidate for this mission was REMBE brand ambassador and multiple Olympic medallist Robert Förstemann. Förstemann is a track cyclist and sprinter and, with his 80cm thigh circumference, has enough strength to pedal for 60 seconds at more than 600 watts on an ergometer. The energy generated was enough to cause a bursting disc to burst. The spectacle thrilled several thousand exhibition visitors from all over the world. Especially impressed is CEO Stefan Penno by his young and dynamic team at the exhibition stand: ”Everyone here didn’t just do their best, they gave their all and that leaves a very, very good impression on our visitors and customers.” The Brilon-based company expects that the order books will continue to fill up after the exhibition and that all the hard work will pay off.
