UWT Steps Up Global Growth Strategy for Liquid Measurement

UWT Group’s 8th International Sales Meeting in Germany united global partners to strategize future growth, aligning global market approaches under the new strategic milestone motto: ”We are liquid ready.”
Under the motto “Liquid ready?.”, the international UWT Group gathered at its headquarters in southern Germany for the 8th International Sales Meeting (ISM) during the first week of May.
Together with subsidiaries, sales partners, and employees from around the world, the event focused on an intensive week of strategic planning, international exchange, and future-oriented collaboration.

Collaborative Planning for Long-Term Growth

The event began with the joint 7-year strategic planning process involving the eight UWT subsidiaries. Key topics included targets and plans related to revenue growth, employee development, infrastructure, and future capacity requirements. Over the coming months, these concepts will be further refined and consolidated into a shared strategy for the entire UWT Group.
Strategy turned into commitment – and this commitment is intended to drive sustainable growth: step by step and market by market.

Global Experts Align for International Strategy

By Tuesday evening, sales partners from 35 nations had gathered in southern Germany – home of the UWT headquarters – for the official ISM. From Wednesday onward, subsidiaries, sales partners, the management of the UWT Group, and colleagues from sales, product management, and marketing worked together on future strategies, market approaches, and the further development of UWT’s global positioning.

Shifting Focus: ”We Are Liquid Ready”

One of the defining aspects of the event was the development of the central theme throughout the week. At the beginning, the key question was: Are we ready for the liquid market? Following intensive workshops, presentations, and hands-on technical sessions, the answer became a clear statement: We are liquid ready.

Expanding the Liquid Application Portfolio

UWT clearly demonstrated that the company already offers a strong portfolio for liquid applications today – ranging from sensor solutions to monitoring and visualization systems. At the same time, the event highlighted the development efforts and strategic focus with which UWT plans to further expand its liquid business in the future.
In addition to sales strategies, particular attention was given to global marketing campaigns, new communication approaches, and the further development of international market strategies.

Empowering Global Partners with Technical Know-How

A special focus was placed on making international sales partners “Liquid Ready” – providing them with technical know-how, concrete sales arguments, application expertise, and strategies for successfully expanding the liquid business in their respective markets.
The shared objective: To further strengthen UWT’s global position as a supplier of level measurement and monitoring technology – for solids and liquids.

Olympic Inspiration and Hands-On Technology

One of the highlights of the event was the keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Michael Groß. The former professional swimmer, three-time Olympic champion, and five-time world champion shared valuable insights on motivation, change, and successful collaboration through his experience as an entrepreneur, coach, and honorary professor for organization and leadership.
The ISM also provided numerous technical insights. Product Management guided participants through various themed areas with different technical focuses. The response was consistently positive – practical, professionally prepared, and met with great interest by attendees.

A Mediterranean Finale to Celebrate Global Unity

The event concluded with a joint evening gathering at the UWT headquarters. For the occasion, a small “beach” area with deck chairs and a beach bar was created as a tribute to the UWT production site in Malta, where the ISM had originally been planned to take place. In keeping with the Mediterranean atmosphere, typical Maltese drinks and specialties were also served.
The 8th International Sales Meeting once again underlined the international orientation of the UWT Group and the shared focus on further growth in the global market for level measurement technology.

UWT vibrating level switches - Safe cleaning and descaling with nitric acid – process reliability in the dairy industry In dairy processing, nitric acid (HNO₃) is specifically used to descale pipelines, heat exchangers and tank systems. Safe handling of this aggressive chemical is essential – both to protect the equipment and to ensure the safety of personnel. Cleaning is carried out as part of proven and standardised CIP (Cleaning in Place) processes that ensure the hygienic integrity of the production system. Concentrated acids or alkalis are often used for this purpose. These are stored in dedicated tanks and diluted to the required concentration during the cleaning cycle directly within the production system. For safe storage, nitric acid is kept in corrosion-resistant stainless steel tanks – ensuring long-term stability and reliable availability within the CIP system. The focus of this application is on the use of chemically resistant materials in all installed sensors to ensure long-term functional reliability and maximum process safety under demanding conditions. Precision That Lasts: UWT Level Sensors Prove 35-Year Durability
After three decades in continuous operation, a recent site inspection of five plastic granule silos revealed that UWT’s level sensors, manufactured in 1990, still provide flawless measurement signals for the plastics industry. Solving Inefficiency in Granule Storage Management At an industrial facility with 9-meter silos for plastic granules, operators struggled with unreliable level data for years. This lack of transparency forced reactive ordering rather than strategic planning, leading to increased costs and wasted effort during periods of fluctuating plastic prices. Accurate data isn’t just a technical requirement; it’s a financial necessity for modern supply chain management. A Surprising Discovery of 1990s Engineering A technical audit by UWT’s service team revealed that the silos were equipped with SLS 100 mechanical plumb bob systems; the direct predecessor to the current NivoBob series. These units, manufactured on February 13, 1990, had survived over 35 years of continuous industrial use. The discovery underscores a technical design so robust that it remains functional well beyond typical industry life cycles. Root Cause Analysis Vindicates Sensor Performance The technical

Hygienic Level Control: UWT Optimizes Ice Cream Production
To ensure premium quality in ice cream production, raw milk must be handled with extreme care. UWT’s advanced radar and vibration sensors provide the precision and hygiene needed to master complex dairy processing environments. Navigating the Complexities of Dairy Processing Ice cream is one of the world’s favorite foods. At the start of production, raw milk must be stored under strictly controlled hygienic conditions. Reliable level measurement plays a key role in ensuring smooth processes, enabling efficient cleaning cycles, and allowing flexible integration into dairy applications. In a typical ice cream production plant, raw milk is temporarily held in an agitated vessel before further processing. At the same time, challenges such as agitators, confined installation conditions in outlet pipes, and regular CIP/SIP cleaning cycles must be addressed. Process Challenges * High hygiene requirements for raw milk handling * Frequent cleaning with chemically demanding CIP/SIP processes * Agitators influencing the product surface * Limited installation space in outlet piping Radar and Vibration Technology Combined For continuous level monitoring, a NivoRadar® NR 8400 is installed
